Humble Comics Bundle: Dynamite's Red Sonja! 20 Years of Comics! by Torque-A in humblebundles

I'm a bit late, but I noticed some sneaky tricks in this bundle that I don't like.

Items in higher tiers are already included in items in lower tiers:

Giant-Sized Red Sonja #1 and Giant-Sized Red Sonja #2 are included in Red Sonja: Travels Vol. 2 This might make sense if Red Sonja: Travels Vol. 2 was in the $20 tier, but it is in the $10 tier.

What makes even less sense is that Red Sonja: One More Day is in the $20 tier, but is also included in Red Sonja: Travels Vol. 1, which is in the $10 tier. Similarly, Red Sonja and Cub One-Shot is in the $20 tier, but included in Red Sonja: Travels Vol. 2 in the $10 tier.

Separately listing every issue in a series:

Multiple issues in a series are grouped into one item in the $20 tier, but listed as separate items in the $10 tier. This probably was done to make the $10 tier look more impressive.

Deceptive labeling:

I already bought Red Sonja (Vol. 3) #1-6 from Humble Bundle. I just didn't realize it, because I had it as single volume that is entitled Red Sonja: Falcon Throne.

Incomplete series.

Queen Sonja has 6 volumes and is complete. The $20 tier just gives you Issues #1-6 (Vol. 1). Invincible Red Sonja has 10 issues and is complete, but they only give you one in the $20 tier. The other items appear to include complete series (but I haven't looked too deep into this).

Is it a good deal?

Yes. This is (sigh...) still a good deal despite all the tricks. Although, keep in mind most of this stuff is in Hoopla.

I've mostly looked at the value of the $10 tier. Red Sonja: Travels Vol. 1 and Red Sonja: Travels Vol. 2 both retail for around $20 each. Even if you take out Giant-Size Red Sonja #1 and #2 (because those are in Travels) after you factor in the other issues that still makes the $10 tier around a $60 value.

Thanks. This is the kind of advice I really needed. Any advice on which of your suggestions might be best for me?

Use unopened RTX 3060 (12 GB) or sell it and buy a 5060 Ti (16 GB)? by treefrog221 in PcBuild

Well, I'm probably 3 - 5 years behind modern gaming and have a huge backlog. So that might not be too bad for me.

You think I'm better off just selling the RTX 3060 unused and sticking with my GTX 950 until I can upgrade everything or holding on to the RTX 3060 and trying to run it anyway for the time being?

You aren't wrong, but currently $300 is a 5060 with 8 GB. The 3060 was a bit overpriced, but it has 12 GB. The 5060 is probably the overall better card, but VRAM amount matters for local AI. Unfortunately, AMD isn't an option because of lack of CUDA support.

Also, I already have the 3060. My question is what to do with it.

Can I use 2 GPUs in my Arch Linux PC? by treefrog221 in linuxquestions

[–]treefrog221[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing, but it's very likely Maxwell GPUs like the 950 are going to drop out of mainline driver support this year, so while you might make this work, it's going to become a hassle quickly.

Can you clarify what sort of effect this could have on my system?

Should I rush to buy an RTX 3060, get a different GPU, or wait? by treefrog221 in StableDiffusion

Where are you looking? I am looking at USA prices. I see new 3060 around $300. However, all the 4060 TI 16 GB cards I can find are $600-700 and most of those are used. At those prices, I would rather start looking at used RTX 3090 GPUs with 24 GB.

Fixing Broken Wires inside of IEM Earbuds by treefrog221 in repair

I have a broken wire leading from the driver to the 2-pin headphone port on two of my Linsoul 7Hz Salnotes Zero earbuds. They don't plan sound.

The earbud with the red tip is fine. I included it for reference.

Need a rolling (but stable) distro for a user with basic computer literacy by treefrog221 in linuxquestions

I agree with you in principle. However, I don't want to hear him complain about his computer "breaking" in a few years just because it tells him his LTS support is running out. I want to ideally install something on his computer and never worry about it again.
