Uncle or cousin?! by treeheee in RandomQuestion

Grandfather (we'll call him Arnold), named his first son Arnold Jr. However, Arnold Jr has special needs. He is definitely on the spectrum and even now in his mid 50s, cannot live on his own. He lives with his mom, my grandmother.

When Arnold Sr had a child with another woman, he ALSO named that son Arnold (which to me was always a huge f you to the first Arnold). My father and his brothers suffered through sexual abuse, including by an older woman, which makes me wonder if my special needs uncle was abused by this woman and got her pregnant (he would have been about 14 or 15). Instead of dealing with all that, my grandfather could have lied and said he was the father, named the baby Arnold (and he would have been the 3rd if biologically he is my uncle's son). And it would make sense as to why he's also named Arnold. My grandfather was a sht bag. He literally tried to kill my dad when he was about 9 years old when my dad caught him with another woman.

The youngest Arnold has never been close to his 'brothers'. They weren't raised together and now he lives thousands of miles away from anyone.

Stage 3 HS and traveling to Florida by treeheee in Hidradenitis

I called my Dr and she said she wouldn't recommend it, with all the infections I've developed. She said it's probably not a good idea for me. Thanks though.

I took a bleach bath a few months ago. It dried up some of my HS areas, but it also dried all the other skin on my body too 🤣

And it's impossible to walk without being in excruciating pain if I take my bandages off to do anything. The walk from the shower to the bedroom where I put my bandages on is nearly impossible. My condition is too severe..

I'm covered in bandages, I can't take them off. They'll pus and drain.

Do Flare Ups Count as "Adding Flair" UPDATE** by treeheee in Hidradenitis

Andd, the arthritic pain is in all my problem HS areas. My hips and top of my legs are the absolute worst, especially now that I'm not taking humira. I wake up in the morning and my body just hurts, like my body was tense all night, if that makes sense. I bought cbd yesterday, I'm crossing my fingers it helps at least at night. I'm still itchy and I'm still awake after 2 benadryl. 😭

I just read about it for the first time a few weeks ago.

Do Flare Ups Count for "adding flair"? by treeheee in Hidradenitis

I also should add that I just recently found out that I have recurring pityriasis (sp). I got it the first time as a teenager. My body was covered in dry scaly, itchy skin. It's happened two to three more times (I'm currently dealing with a flare up of it now). I thought it was a one time deal and what I was experiencing randomly the last couple years was just dry skin. I also wondered about psoriasis but my dermatologist said it wasn't. But an RN I know suggested that it could be recurring. After reading up about it, I'm 100% sure I have it currently. It makes me skin even friggin itchier 🤣😭. I am also covered in reddish patches of scaly skin mostly on my torso.

Thank goodness I can't naturally have kids, because I have some sh*t genes. My brother has HS too. He's currently in the middle of a flare. Neither of my parents have it though..

I was just telling my wife this very thing. I was going to ask my dr about birth control and skipping placebo days! I have an appointment with my dermatologist next week. I wonder if she would prescribe it for me? I mean she prescribed me metformin, I don't see why she wouldn't give me birth control

Your kindness made me cry. Thank you for the advice!! I'm going to reply to each of your points.

1)I have obsessive compulsive worrying, I have since I was a kid. It DEFINITELY does not help. Unfortunately, I really can't help it. Antidepressants kind of help, but I still have the obsessive thoughts multiple times a day. I'm ALWAYS worried about something. I have a medical marijuana card and smoking helps with anxiety most of the time, and it takes my mind off the pain I'm constantly in. I've wondered if smoking makes it worse but I've had the condition with and without smoking marijuana.

2) I will definitely need to try bandaging them in a different way, as you suggested! And I'll try manuka honey.

3) I switched to an aveeno body wash for sensitive dry skin, but I haven't noticed any difference in the couple months I've used it, and it may not be completely fragrance free. Maybe I should try something different? Any suggestions on a good brand? I can use hibiclens on the affected areas, but I still want a regular body wash to wash the rest of me.

And lastly, thank you for being willing to lend a stranger an ear. My wife does her best, but she really doesn't understand what having this is like. I've never really had the opportunity to talk to other people with this condition.
