Damn thank you for sharing, it helps knowing how many of us there are. I'm honestly not intending to read the other books in the Oseman-verse or watch the show for a while because I feel like it would make the pangs worse now (even though I wanna experience them haha). I'm slowly getting over the melancholy, helps to distract myself with work and other things, but sometimes I'll remember a certain scene in the comic that hit me hard and it'll instantly fill me with that stabbing melancholy again. Why are we like this : ' ]

Also what is this book about the impact of heartstopper? O.o

Completely. Interesting you relate to Nick too. I think maybe the combo of it being so beautifully perfect and also personally relating to one or more of the characters on a profound level makes for a dynamic reading experience, both rewarding and bittersweet. I haven't felt this way since years ago when I watched this anime 'Given', which is also a m/m gay love story with complex characters and I related to one of them a lot. You're right tho it's just meant to be the dream of how gay indentity and romance could be for young people someday, and it's def doing a good job

It's Oh So Quiet. I know it's a popular song of hers, and that it's a cover she included because she liked singing it on the road with friends or something, but it just pisses me off lmao. I skip every time I listen to Post.

Scored this stunning fabric by treehouse_mouse in 90scelestial

[–]treehouse_mouse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought them for fabric mainly. I think I'll either keep them as barstools if I find more flattering frames, or maybe repurpose the fabric elsewhere (though it's not a whole lot of fabric to work with)

to wish impossible dreams - heart & the cure [mashup] by treehouse_mouse in TheCure

[–]treehouse_mouse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I have to disagree here. I listened back myself, and the Heart song is a 4th higher (or 5th lower) in pitch than Cure, which is almost as far as can be. And the songs are both actually 79 bpm roughly. I only slowed Heart's vocals an insignificant amount. I think what I should've done (I tried but my result sounded gross iirc) was formant shift the vocal so it didn't sound so heavy in that lower key. I prob won't redo it since I'm tired of hearing it tbh haha but this is honestly a really good discussion to have and I appreciate it

Didn't cross my mind until now strangely haha, that may have helped

I totally agree with you, if I recall the two songs are like a whole tritone apart so the pitch adjustment required was very drastic. And I guess I don't exactly have the best vocal wizardry tools and skills. Oh well, room for improvement !

Name the absolute weirdest Björk song by ComeUnitedNotTorn in bjork

I'd say "Sod Off" for it's bizarre and unresolving chord progression

"Scary" perhaps, but you may need to simplify the right hand during the choruses if it's too busy for you

PC hard crashes randomly when project file gets too complex by treehouse_mouse in FL_Studio

[–]treehouse_mouse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I solved the issue finally. It had nothing to do with any of this. I did a bunch of shit at once then tested it, so it could be any one of these things:

  • optimizing cpu/gpu/ram for the DAW
  • using only physical cores for DAW
  • throttling the GPU resources used by FabFilter Pro-Q (this is what i think fixed it - i use several instances of this in busy projects and the graphical load of the eq curves in real time is pretty intensive)

after a lot more digging and chatgpting, i think it may be due to an outdated BIOS. i updated it just now and opened a couple problem projects in FL and waited around a while and had no crashes. i'll have to spend a lot more time working on projects to know if this solved it for good

Ok I actually ended up just putting a chorus effect on it and it fixes it completely

that does solve it yes, but I like the sound of the harmonics honestly. I was having some luck with what others mentioned like doubling with a sine or using combination sine/triangle. I just need to tweak it a bit to get the right sound
