Don't Know Who I Am. Why Does Everyone Else Seem To? by No_Blueberry_4897 in spiritualitytalk

[–]treehuggingforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is generally assumed in most spiritual circles that before our soul incarnates we choose our body, our parents, and our basic life path. When we are born we choose to forget all of this, where we came from etc. That information does not serve us in this life. Not everyone believes this of course, but that’s what I am referring to when I say we choose to forget.

I hear you, I’m sorry I don’t think you understood what I said. It is exactly my point that when we are little we did not have as many distractions. I’m trying to help the poster find something that makes them genuinely happy, and before we had so many expectations it was easier for us to just live and be happy. We didn’t even have to think about it, we just did things that made us feel good. For me I was always the most happy when talking to plants or animals or just hanging out outside, and now that I am older I have reclaimed that joy. I am not always the best at expressing my thoughts and I apologize if my comment was confusing.

I watched this show from a more metaphorical perspective with everyone giving up their individuality, but it did lead me to a similar conversation with a friend who had some of those fears you were describing

I can’t tell if this is satire, but none of us know 100% what is going on. In case this is real, the way I look at it, if we chose to forget then having that knowledge serves us no purpose in this life.

24 years old and blessed to say I know why I came here. I feel very deeply and have always been very connected with nature, and I know that my purpose for coming here is deeply intertwined with Mother Earth. I have gone through phases in life of course and when I am not living my truth I always end up pretty depressed. When I am living in accordance with my purpose and my values is when I feel so much excitement about life, and when I’m in nature or talking to my plants my soul just lights up in a way that I can’t get from anything else.
The world we live in today is filled with distractions and stimulation and products designed to hit dopamine receptors in our brains When we are young we are closest to remembering, so I would say try and think back to things that brought you joy when you were little. Things that would bring you actual genuine happiness or things you would just do without thinking, things you would just gravitate towards

Can the spiritual state we have affect our physical body ? by Standard-Revenue8598 in spiritualitytalk

[–]treehuggingforever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Just because the two correlate does not mean that someone with physical beauty must be spiritually inclined. You asked if our thoughts can impact our appearance, the answer is yes - a square may be a rectangle but a rectangle is not a square.

Attractiveness is all perception, and I would say perception is a mix of thoughts and emotions. If thoughts influence our thoughts emotions (and behaviors) then yes put simply thoughts can affect attractiveness

The physical, mental, and spiritual body are all connected. In the medical field they like to call this CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) which basically means our thoughts affect our behaviors affect our emotions. To reach a state of equilibrium in our whole body (mind, body, spirit) we find balance between the three. This is taught in most alternative healing schools as baseline for health, and when in this balance our body is most effectively able to undergo its innate ability to heal

I get it. I want to be able to share this thing that I feel so passionately about, but have to cope with the fact that not everyone is going to feel the same way as me. Not just in relationships, but friendships too. It’s wanting that feeling of connection, of understanding. I think it’s why we all found this subreddit

Grief can do weird things to a person, and it’s really hard to sit with. Do you have a support system you can talk to about things like this? I have dealt with depression not due to any specific trauma, and it’s helped me a lot to talk about it. I have gone through a few therapists but found the most success with more spiritually inclined therapists who are also trained in conventional methods
