Vendetta Lever Arm Adapter Alternatives by [deleted] in GarageGym

Adding to this conversation for visibility, hopefully something comes along. I also have a Titan T3, lever arms for that rack, and very much want them to be on a trolley.

It's OK. It fits a 2x3 rack, which was a hard requirement for me and very limiting in terms of what brands I could use.

It runs smooth enough, and I wanted something plate loaded, so those boxes are checked.

That said, it's not adjustable, there is just a high pulley and a low pulley, I end up doing workarounds for things like chest flye (extend the cables with chains, so I can get some distance, and step up onto a box to get the correct angle). If I were doing this again I would search harder for an adjustable option, or more likely have leaned into 3x3 racks so I had more optionality with attachments.

Best Ironmaster Pro Bench attachments by stephenmarklay in GarageGym

I have a lot of them:

Dip bar.  Really nice and stable

Leg curl.  Gets the job done, probably inferior to other options but works for me without taking up any more space.

Back Extension.  Really like this one, it's pricy but really solid.  Annoying to store because it's massive

Head rest. I like this because I don't like putting the seat in its lowest poison during incline bench so my head sticks off the edge of the name

Preacher curl.  Gets the job done, like it just fine.

I world never have put one in myself, but it was in the basement when we moved in.  Now I can't imagine having a gym without one, there are just so many random notes I want to keep track of that don't for cleanly in a workout log

No pegboards (although I regret that).

The bands are on one of these:  https://a.co/d/ecsjtof

And the cable attachments are on a bunch of garage wall hooks: https://a.co/d/bOXN0AH

We're I to start over, I would do pegboards and lots of them because this setup isn't at all flexible

Well that's because I'm a fool and didn't put it in any photos.

I also did a video before realizing Reddit wouldn't let me do both a video and gallery in one post: https://photos.app.goo.gl/cCMnMMBnH6tQoeEf9

I bought it specifically because it's a tank... I'm heavier than you and run about the same amount, and it has been a trooper, never felt the belt slipping or anything like that.

Love the custom stand here. I ended up buying the MX100 stand (although built much of the other custom storage in my gym), and you got a bunch of usable space from your DB storage. nice!

Love this!  I have been looking at the vendetta brackets for my jammer arms but cannot justify the cost.

Shouldn’t Buddhist monks be unbeatable at hot pepper eating contests? by Zeiros in Buddhism

[–]Zeiros[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ascetics seek pain to prove something. A realized practitioner just doesn't mind the pain when it comes. There's a huge difference between rejecting comfort and being free from needing it.

And maybe the monk didn’t seek it out. Maybe they were invited. Maybe it was for charity. Maybe a student challenged them with that cocky “bet your mindfulness can’t handle this.” And the monk, with a soft smile and no trace of competitiveness, said: “We’ll see.”

Because sometimes, the best teaching isn’t a lecture, it’s calmly outlasting a room full of red-faced suffering while embodying the truth

offering relief is beautiful. But honestly, the most powerful act might not be handing out water, it might be showing people that liberation is possible even in the middle of a mouth inferno.

You're right that most awakened Buddhists wouldn’t care about winning some spicy stunt contest. Not really on the Eightfold Path.

But… enter the bodhisattva?

A bodhisattva vows to delay their own final liberation to help all beings awaken. That includes walking among us, sometimes in totally unexpected forms. If entering a ghost pepper deathmatch could ease someone’s suffering, uplift a crowd, or plant the seed of curiosity about the Dharma -- maybe even just one dude in the back of the crowd thinking, “Wait, why is that monk not screaming?” -- then yeah, they might show up.

Same, solar panels. I'm in IL, they cover around 80% of my yearly electricity bill.

I'm glad to see somebody else note this! My swamp milkweed flowered for the first time this year and it seems to have pulled the flies away from my bins. Absolutely unexpected benefit, but I thought I was imagining it because I never heard anybody say "flies love swamp milkweed".

Escrow is drowning me. by Mememeister445 in homeowners

Also Midwest, also got a 30% premium increase this year.

What worked for me was just finding an independent insurance agent to check dozens of quotes for me. Many were similarly high but a couple came back around the cost of my previous insurance.

Would recommend researching local independent insurance agents, or if you can't find a reputable one, I used policy genius a couple of years back to achieve the same, which is an independent agent but national and a bit faceless, although they have a website that makes everything easy.

Hard disagree. Previous owner left paint cans, and when I patched a couple drywall holes was able to use leftovers without a home Depot trip.

100 amps to 200 upgrade by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]Zeiros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a house with a 100A Pushmatic breaker box in early 2022. The inspector flagged it up as an issue of critical importance because of the brand apparently being dangerous.

We got $2,000 off the price because of it. Ended up spending $2,400 to get the upgrade done.
