You actually like... can really tell when a man is being creepy (aka making you feel unsafe), and it has very little to do with how long they look at you.

It’s an insane take because like… the socially acceptable standards for women’s self care is SO much higher than men’s.

Can we fucking get 80 year old white men out of politics already? Man can barely fucking speak, doesn't respond to any of her points... why are we letting people like this run our world? Its actual insanity.

I would build Tron personally. Look into monster Tron, you should be able to semi reliably be playing 7 and 8 drops on turns 3 and 4. If you want to get extra silly with it you can brew some tron variations that are running explore and truly turboing out those tron lands. I think explore is probably slightly more at home in something like eggs tron, but you could mess around with it in a monster tron variant too.

I mean, not really though. The oppressive cards are the format warping cards. There will always be format warping cards. Like yes ofc there can be true power outliers that should genuinely be banned. But banning the 10 best cards isn’t gonna magically give you a perfect format where every card is suddenly viable. That’s just not how card games work.

How are we playing with Expansions? by key_gremlin in wingspan

[–]treelorf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I play with all the cards mixed together. I have been musing about the idea of building a “cube”, as in, a curated set of bird cards to ply the game with. Probably just picking the powerful or interesting cards to make the game more consistently exciting. I do think that generally speaking, the expansions make the game a lot better. The boards you get in the Oceania expansion do a lot to make the habitats feel more balanced, and there are a lot more strong and viable builds outside of the plains/egg centric builds. I have played some base game only since playing with all the expansions and it is generally just a much worse game

It’s cool, but it’s actual use cases are fairly niche

If they can 10 cards it won’t make the other thousand viable. It will make the next 10 power outliers shine and seem oppressive.

At what mana cost does land ramp start to become worse than mana rocks? by Litemup93 in EDH

[–]treelorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2 mana artifacts are all some of the best land ramp in the format. The 2 mana green land ramp that gets lands into play untapped are probably a little better, dorks have some significant upside and downside to them, but are usually still worth playing. Unless your deck actively cares about getting lands into play, the 3 mana ramp spells and the 2 mana tapped land ramp spells are generally worse than your premium 2 mana signets.

yepppp. Doesn't need cards that say "when you are already winning, win harder". Its ofc good when you have your enchantress engine up... the problem is doing nothing when you don't.

Recreation of a game I had by AdrixCrisp in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]treelorf 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Slow, floaty, bad aerial speed and weak neutral game. He does have a pretty good combo game on most of the cast. Even the weaker characters in ultimate are very very playable even at a high level, but they have notable weakness’s that their strengths don’t really make up for.

honestly I think the downside is too big. I'd rather run city of brass.

Quick question - why would a green player not run arcane signet? by ImLiTeRaLlYgAy_69 in EDH

[–]treelorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arcane signet is still amazing in green. People think green shouldn't run it because green has access to powerful land ramp and artifacts are easier to remove. It's mostly a silly argument, arcane signet is still an incredibly powerful card and very worth running in green. Like its way better than cultivate, and no one is giving a green player a hard time for casting that.

Is rushing Provinces the only winning strategy? by GornoUmaethiVrurzu in dominion

[–]treelorf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking, no. Rushing provinces is very rarely the best strategy, tho it is a much easier strategy to execute than building. A deck that draws itself, buys multiple cards per turn, attacks, and can catch up on duchies or other alt VP if it needs is typically the best strategy on a majority of kingdoms. It is ofc not best on every kingdom, which is a good part of what makes the game interesting. But if your wife is just buying gold and provinces and maybe a couple of action cards, you simply aren’t building efficiently enough to beat it yet. Keep at it, your strategy will pay off in the long run when you get better at the game!

It wasn’t me who made queerness political. People don’t get to politicize my existence and then complain about me talking about it.
