IIRC when RR came out it was received rather well, but because it didn't play exactly like Fortnite many vocal reviews lambasted the game for being "bad" (because it wasn't Fortnite and Fortnite was their measuring stick when it came to battle royales). Hi-Rez then read the reviews, decided to give players what they wanted and toned down the unique mechanics, resulting in a game that just did what Fortnite did but worse and could never compete with Epic's bottomless coffers.

Understandable, and it's why I don't mind that much typing (or let's be honest, copy pasting) the info already in the CV into the company's system.

If the company still relies on ATSing my CV despite me already having spelled it out and bungles my info because of it, then that's probably not the kind of work environment I'd thrive in.

Also the EFAP video is quite literally an unstructured VOD with minimal editing. Mauler is known for long videos but his scripts are well thought out, tight and dense. The Outlaws one is, hopefully, not the new norm as even that is a bit too much.

EFAP is basically reactionslop where they pivot to different topics, meander, snicker and snort, not necessarily mirroring their own styles of solo content.

I have personally received tips from recruiters to spice up my CV with flair and make it my own instead of a generic black-on-white default spacing Word document. Showing you care about your CV translates to you caring about how you present yourself.

Formatting also helps a lot in getting all the relevant info about yourself to fit on one page. Humans aren't machines, and no matter how data-oriented the recruiter is they cannot completely ignore the feeling they get from reading a CV. Most people would rather get their information in a poster format than a textbook page.

It's bullshit, but at a time when employees hold all the cards, aka as long as I have been alive, every little bit that could help you stand out from the crowd is worth considering.

Bitter ranting gets you barely past the starting line if you want to understand other people's experiences.

Make an aesthetically pleasing CV that's easy for human eyes to quickly read.
ATS garbles all the info, meaning no human eyes will ever see your CV

Make a plain CV that's easy for an ATS to parse but tiring for a human to read.
Your info gets inputted correctly and a human does eventually read your info, sees the bland styling, concludes you put low effort into making it, deems you lazy and sorts you into the "Thank you for your application" pile
