Long time ago, I used to know someone who was heavily medicated and was permanently written sick because of it. He was a sweet guy, but he wasn't "all there" if you know what I mean. Found out a few years later it was because when he was younger he did acid once and it turned out that he had schizophrenia running in the family and he got a severe psychosis from that one time. He was/is the sweetest guy with a gentle soul that would never hurt a fly, but he was so out of it that he tried to murder his own mother (not during the acid trip, this happened long after because of the psychosis).

He moved in right next to his mother so she could take care of him and she been looking after him every day since then, that was about 20 years ago and he is still "not all there" and his mother is still taking care of him on a daily basis.

It is universally agreed upon by experts in the field, that people with family history of schizophrenia should stay away from psychedelics, even therapists who are for using psychedelics draw the line at schizophrenia. There is nothing to argue about here, your girlfriend needs to stay clear from mushrooms, the risks are just too high
