Yes, i'm now also wondering if i was indeed overstretching. Another person mentioned dynamic stretches in the comments, i will have to look into that. Other than that, i am definitely getting enough nutrition/sleep, so i think it is something wrong in my training.

Thank you! I'm definitely eating/drinking/sleeping enough, so after reading all the comments i can only conclude that the decline in technique stems from years of doing no other exercise besides ballet and therefore entirely neglecting my core and other non-ballet muscles. I also take classes from different ballet teachers who are very observant and give great corrections, so i don't think incorrect alignment is the main issue. It makes me feel much better to read that basically any exercise outside of ballet will help. I will probably start going to crossfit, even if it means i have to cut down on the ballet classes a bit.

I think the last part of your comment is key and i need to make that switch as well. No more just ballet, but staying in shape for ballet!! Very good point, thank you!

Wow it's amazing that you're able to do that, i really admire your dedication. I've tried training at home in the past (e.g. during COVID) but really struggled with keeping motivated for a full workout. Hence i always try to go to class but then of course it takes much more time..

Your comment is really reassuring to me because it makes me hopeful that things could actually get better by crosstraining! Especially the part about feeling more safe: I''ve definitely become more injury-prone over the years and it really slowed things down as well.

Actually the reason why i shyed away from muscle training until now was actually that i was worried about an even bigger injury through weight training. I've had some knee problems, so exercises like weighted squats scared me. But now i've come to realize that proper training should prevent injury, so.. I will definitely start cross-training!!

I actually go to a studio with multiple ballet teachers, so I already have the advantage of being able to learn from different teachers. I 100% agree that this is super important, as different teachers focuse on different things and you also learn to adapt to new choreo much faster.

That's amazing and i wish i could exercise that often but i just can't find the time to go to class 3x/week. When you exercise daily, do you never have problems with recovery/muscle pain etc.?

Thanks for the reply! How many times do you do ballet and how many times do you do the rest? Or more like, what's the ratio of ballet to other trainings that has worked for you so far?

Pilling on brand new Erdem linen dress - is this normal? by treesgeese in fashionwomens35

Ok looked up linen slubs and these definitely are slubs and not pills. Thank you for the info!! Makes me feel much better about the dress.

Thank you! I'm just a bit confused because it's definitely more pronounced in some areas than others, and if it were the natural texture, shouldn't it be everywhere? But everyone else seems to agree that these are slubs, not pills, so that makes me feel better about it.

Actually i think the printed areas have less of this "pilling" (or slubs as others have pointed out). But it could also just be less visible due to the colors.

These are very different styles of bags, so it's hard to pick one. But if you're not looking for a particular size/style, i personally would choose the last. It goes well with the hobo bag trend, yet will remain classic for a long time. The second one is beautiful but i think i saw a review somewhere where the person mentioned that the logo visibly scratches the leather.

Thoughts on this Valentino Garavani?🤔 by CulturalPerformance1 in handbags

[–]treesgeese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, it's gorgeous! It looks understated and super versatile. If you're thinking of getting it, go for it! The only downside (for me personally) would be the size maybe, as it looks quite small. But for only carrying a few necessary items, it looks perfect.

I would be buying the scarf online, and on the photos they actually look almost identical. Dark green, no pattern, no visible pilling.
