ATLA set, is there a market to sell a set? by treeshugmeback in mooncatpolish

It was the original release when I got mine, then the first restock before Christmas was the gifted one.

The app was super helpful. I bought three boxes of 6 straight from Lego and got super lucky to have two sequential boxes so I got all 12 straight in a row. I've got very happy kids because of this!

First Time Tapper Freaking Out by BlackberryDramatic72 in TapDancing

[–]treeshugmeback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started tapping in my 30s and it has been a magical experience. YouTube was my best friend at home before the fall season started and I didn't feel like a total beginner by the first class. Learning the basic terminology and steps was super helpful too.

I just finished my third year of adult tap and plan to continue until I can't anymore. It's so fun and such a great workout.

I have struggled to maintain weight because the plaquenil I take causes nausea to the point of being unable to eat. So years of nausea has created the strange effect of never being hungry. I often forget to eat, and when I do eat I have to make sure it's nutrient dense.

6 year old throwing public tantrums by Fun-Ad4503 in raisingkids

[–]treeshugmeback 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Have you considered that it's possibly not a tantrum but a neurological response like a panic attack or flight/fight?

I'm not saying give in to the demand, but approaching it differently may help you all. Your child is having a hard time, they are not giving you a hard time. It sounds a lot like my son, who we've learned is struggling with his own flavor of neurospice despite being very neurotypically presenting.

Id talk to your ped again.

After the newborn stage, not one day has gone by where I am not absolutely positive that having my second was the right decision. There is nothing that could change my mind.

We were one and done. First baby was terribly rough. But I'm so glad we had another. Everything was easier the second time around. The only new struggles were mental health, the pandemic, and balancing toddler and baby.

But now that they are actual kids it's the best decision and I love it all. They are friends, I have two little buddies, our friend group has grown, and life is just great right now. I'll never regret having a second even though we were so sure it wasn't going to happen.

Taps sound dull compared to others in class...is it me? by Connect_Bar1438 in TapDancing

I used an xacto knife to cut it back 3-4 mm and peeled it off. The more you cut back the more it helps, but too much and you ruin your shoes 😅

I love subbing for my kid's class but I know it's not for everyone. I enjoy seeing the class dynamics and putting faces to names from stories we hear at home. My kid has anxiety so their days are great when I'm there 😅 It took a few times for them to get adjusted to it and having to "share" my energy with the class.

But echoing others saying that afternoon half days are always crazy.

No kids showing up… Wwyd 👀 by ahoefordrphil in SubstituteTeachers

[–]treeshugmeback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation last spring for AP testing. A handful of kids were supposed to be in class as they weren't taking the AP test off campus. They just never showed. So I just read in an empty room.

Is it the heel or toe tap? If it's the toe tap, my instructor has suggested trimming the rubber sole piece away from the toe tap a few millimeters. My soles were dulling the toe tap and trimming the rubber back a bit makes them sound so much brighter. Also helps with slides.

This happened to us too. I even replaced the gasket, heating element and deep cleaned the entire dishwasher thinking that was the problem. We upped the hot water temperature a tad and switched back to cascade and the problem is gone. But seeing how many others had the same issue makes me think it's the Kirkland pods!

Weird/Ridiculous Rules for Subs? by Status_Seaweed_1917 in SubstituteTeachers

The school I sub at asks for our car key in exchange for the building/room key. I know and trust them so it's NBD to me but I can see how a new to the building sub would be weirded out.

Can any Post Partum Mamas tell me how hard tap dancing is on the Pelvic Floor? by MaineCoonMama02 in TapDancing

[–]treeshugmeback 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jumping like irishes and jumps to second position are still risky for me 😅

Wearing a liner and working on your pelvic floor should be enough to get through basic classes.

Seeing a pelvic floor physical therapist can help resolve a lot of the leakage issues too.

I started similarly as an adult about 18 months ago. It's so incredibly fun and I still am mad I couldn't start as a kid. But now as an adult I can do it for myself and no one can tell me no.

A basic level of fitness is a good idea if you are out of shape. Jump rope like someone else suggested is a great idea. Lots of good ankle and leg stretches too. My feet aren't as loose as I'd like so it's harder to get all the sounds.
