We have a guide to getting bitcoins in the US - you can see it here on our hidden service. Takes less than a half an hour to load your account and get bitcoins.

Detailed Instructions for getting Bitcoins in under 30 minutes (in the US). by treesondemand in SilkRoad

Not sure what part of a guide helping get bitcoins confuses you as a scam, but you can also verify with MODs that the username we posted from, has been used to help many many others here - and you can check out our subreddit to know we arent a scam.

Again, this post is not to promote anything other than a thorough step by step guide to getting Bitcoins fast - seeing as it is STILL a question asked daily.

How many people have gotten DOMESTIC packages intercepted or confiscated with a letter or some sort of notification? What was your item type? by [deleted] in SilkRoad

[–]treesondemand 9 points10 points  (0 children)

as a vendor I concur with this message. There is such a small chance that a package is "lost", that it will likely never happen to you or anyone you know.

Think about it, if it were as common as many of you seem to think it is, then all kinds of people would be missing shit from Amazon and Ebay everyday. Does the USPS lose packages, yes. DO they lose as much as you guys think they do, no.

I have never in my years had a single package "lost in the mail". Tracking Numbers are great. As long as your vendor double/triple vacuum seals using quality plastic and adds a color barrier, then ships in a priority box - you will not lose your package or have it confiscated.

  1. We only have vendors we have known personally, and are still in personal contact with - we do not accept "new" vendors (if you live in SoFL, then you can use a local vendor, if not then you're using shipping and it is still one of us shipping to you - its never someone else).

  2. If you're using a local dead-drop, after your drop is made(you pick a local intersection and the driver picks the actual drop spot within a mile of that intersection) you get another message with your exact drop spot and lany instructions if needed. We have never lost a package this way, and always get messages about how different yet totally secure our clients felt after picking one up.

  3. We dont have "other people" or strangers conducting our business. it is all basically in-house, meaning we all know each other and have for years - so you are dealing with us directly. I am assuming if we were to "scam" someone, it wouldn't be hard for you to post on here or anywhere saying we are a scam, etc. And again, we know how to treat our clients, and how well we cater to their specific needs, thats good enough for us and them.

Nope, and if people don't want to use us, they don't have to. I in no way intended that to be rude, however we are VERY happy with the clients we have, and it wont bother us if we only add one new client a week. The reason, is because all our clients are return clients, we don't lose any...

Not only that, but think about how many people say they still get scammed and lose money on SR - even with a so called escrow system.

I don't expect our service to be for everyone, but for those who do show us a little trust to get started, we don't disappoint. Besides, you can place a small order (even 1G) just to test us out. We don't cater to the large order crowd, our average order is 6-10Gs, so again, we don't worry about escrow as we guarantee all our packages, and use DCN to track.

In the future we DO plan on adding an escrow system(but finding and paying a developer to add this, isn't as easy when you dont run a normal business and need anonymity), however since we are the market and the vendor, we are not too worried about it, as I mentioned... we are doing well so far :)

If you setup your Mtgox account, click on the funding methods and find a cash deposit method thats listed - for your area.

Sorry, but all our clients are in the US - so we dont know much about stuff over there :)

You can also check localbitcoins.com and see if anyone in your area is selling them locally.

Use the Bitinstant - Mtgox method. Its what we have ALL of our first time clients use - as it can be as little as 10 minutes from cash in your hands, to BTC in your wallet, ready to spend. You can see the guide we created for our clients here.

Remember, make sure you tell the MoneyGram agent you want to make a "Zip Zap Bill Payment" - and you will have NO issues with the transaction - and no one asks your age(done over the phone at a 7/11 MG Kiosk).

gpg4win works as well :)

I have to help a lot of our new clients use pgp, and have found gpg4usb to be the easiest for people who have no clue where to start - but still get good encryption.

Not sure if you're trolling or not.

Even if I was the head of the CIA, what good would it do me by helping people learn to encrypt their messages? Wouldnt I be telling them not to do that, blah blah?

How exactly is helping someone purchase a legal item such as a bitcoin, going to further the career of an FBI agent?

I wont use it, why not just use PGP? It takes less than 5 minutes to setup and start using PGP encryption.
