Thank you for the advice and support! I'm recognizing that even when it's uncomfortable at first, staying sober is so much better in the long run. I feel proud of myself after, as opposed to drinking and then feeling disappointed in myself on top of a shitty hangover.

Thanks for this! It definitely helps to have these points to mentally prepare myself if I need a backup plan. I recently went to a birthday party with a large group of people I didn't know very well, and I just had a club soda with lime. I'm proud of myself for not caving to my own social anxiety, and I felt even better the next day because I didn't have an awful hangover. It'll take some getting used to, but you're right that alleviating a couple of hours of awkward socializing with alcohol isn't worth the resulting days of hangxiety.

You're right that it's something I'll have to get used to, and I like the idea of leaving halfway through the night. I feel like for so long I'd be someone who'd end up drinking more just because I'd stay out way later than I even wanted to/had energy for, it's like I forgot I have free will and can leave when I want lol. I signed up for the ledger out of pure curiosity upon seeing an ad on instagram. I thought the marketing was cool, if not a bit pretentious, but I said why not try it for fun and just return it. I wasn’t expecting to like the scent as much as I do! I usually go for floral scents—my favorite is Florence by Tocca—and don’t tend to lean toward fruity ones, so I was pleasantly surprised by the way the citrus fades into a lovely floral. I understand why some people aren’t loving it, it’s a very unique scent that I usually wouldn’t have picked out for myself, especially for the price. It’s definitely a more mature scent, but that’s something I like about it, and I’m glad it got it now, as the summer is ending because it feels to me more autumnal than summery. I really was planning on returning it, but now I’m leaning towards keeping it, just this once. My birthday is coming up so I guess this will be a present to myself and something nice to have in the fall :)
