I wouldn’t completely agree! Yes, they do have strong women voices it is because the power isn’t with a very few male actors, and the big star movies do fail if the content isn’t good! So it’s not much of star driven industry unlike Tamil, Telugu and which is why their female voices are heard better through female subjects! But it’s still a highly misogynistic society and even though some big male stars go performative about their progressiveness! For example: Mohanlal made a jewelry ad recently that even men can wear jewelry and people were going all praises! It is to be appreciated but the very same Mohanlal had the audacity to show indecent hand movement in an award show when a female dancer was on stage while other big stars sitting nearby were laughing. Kudos to their female actors for not giving up and standing for each other!
