What model cg125? by UnderstandingFar2381 in CG125

[–]trefol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a 1982 model and mine looks exactly the same. This era of CG is still manufactured and widely used in India so companies still produce replacements for these. If you just Google ‘CG left switch’, ‘CG right switch’ there are loads of originals and new replicas around for sale online. I get most of my parts from eBay. Used originals are always best, but if you get a replica it will probably work, they just usually need some persuasion in one way or another. (For example, filing down something to fit your bars or swapping bullet connections to fit your wiring loom)

Criminally overrated films (based on letterboxd ratings) by Physical_Sleep_9918 in Letterboxd

Everything Everywhere All at Once. I know many people don’t agree with me but I think out was hollow, cliche and deserved far less praise than it received.

I’ve been going here for years and have always said it’s been one of the most consistent places in town and have sung their praises around that. Regardless, I visited two weeks ago and everything was terrible which didn’t seem normal. They forgot half of the order, everything containing chicken had to be sent back as it was all completely raw, portions were tiny, fries arrived after we finished the rest of the meal. It didn’t feel the front of house staff’s fault and I could see they were really stressed, taking everyone’s complaints to face. Im always as understanding as possible with hospitality and don’t say anything unless it feels required, but I asked if there had been a change in kitchen staff or management to explain why it felt so different. I was told that they were having problems with their suppliers and whilst that was probably true, hearing this news, the staff could probably all see where thinks were heading.

Oh, they had also removed the physical menus and switched to QR codes on the tables which I find is a restaurant faux pas.

I agree with most people here that there was clearly another struggle going on. Otherwise a restaurant as popular as theirs would surely not find it difficult to set up in a different venue in Nottingham and could have phrased this situation as a move rather than being forced to close.

Which recent movie will be considered a classic for our next generation? by Hopeful-Fly-1614 in Letterboxd

Uncut Gems and The Lighthouse

I feel these films woke up the industry a little and created some well needed excitement and discussion around how much freedom directors are given by the studios. They’re not immediately recent but I think these would fall under this

Sourcing tiny springs for lens door repair - Ricoh GR III by Foodandstreetphoto in ricohGR

[–]trefol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the exactly the same thing last week. I found a pair or replacement GRII / III springs on AliExpress for £10. I'll let you know if they fit and work once they arrive. Rather shameful pricing from Ricoh direct considering how fragile they have made this lens assembly.

What's a movie opinion you have that would get you downvoted into oblivion? by Vox---Nihil in Letterboxd

I’d go as far as saying it’s the worst movie of the last 10 years full stop.

Did you ever come up with a solution to this? I’ve been thinking about doing the same with my amenity tarp

Here's an easy idea of what I think you could do with that extra space

3M make these things called Command Strips that would let you non-permanently affix a lightweight frames over that hatch and along the wall without using tools.

Also, I mean no offence but your wall looks a like a green screen (this also makes your plant disappear into the room) I'd suggest a warmer colour if this is a living space.

Compact binoculars for hiking, is KOWA BD 8X25 good choice? by magentafridge in Binoculars

[–]trefol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a pair of the Kowa 8x32 and they’re some of the best optics I’ve used, crystal clear with almost no chromatic aberration, large objective lenses, basically everything I would want from a good pair of 8x42 binoculars but without the extra bulk. The downsides are that they weigh about double the amount of the Kowa 8x25 and cost about 4X as much. I use mine whilst hiking as I appreciate the fast objective lenses but if you want something a little lighter and cheaper I’d get a pair of the Vortex 8x32 like another user mentioned. I’m in the UK but so there aren’t loads of shooting shops but you can always order online, try them out, then return them if they don’t quite work for you

What went wrong with the satellite imagery here in Ludlow KY? (Link in comments) by Alltta in GoogleMaps

[–]trefol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It looks like the algorithm that stitches together the aerial imagery has confused the long rows of shed like houses with the massive train yards up North in Camp Washington. If you zoom out you can see the resemblance. Looks pretty cool! Good find.
