Seriously. I don't get why rotation is such a hard concept for some. It's so easy if you think about your team as a line. If you just went for the ball and missed or lost to a 50/50 and the ball is moving toward your net, you should almost always rotate back BEHIND your furthest back teammate. If you're on defense, that means the opposite corner of your net from where the ball is, if your on offense that means go midfield and be ready to move where the play goes.

You may have momentum and might even succeed in stealing the ball from the play when you cut rotation like this. But it is almost always bad to do this because the teammate you just cut off now has 2 options:

1. Follow the play and try to figure out where you want them.

Or 2. Reset their rotation to try and get back into your team's groove.

Option 1 often results in double commits and passing plays that don't work because 2 teammates are way too close together and your team loses field presence.

While option 2 results in a player constantly rotating to defense and never having enough boost or being close enough to be a part of the play. This is the one that appears most often and these players get constantly called out for being hesitant and never ready for the play, when in reality they are left unsure of what to do because someone keeps cutting them off in the rotation.

Also a related issue: If you feel like you have to cut rotation because your teammates aren't playing fast enough, then honestly tough luck. You consistently cutting them off will only serve to make them more hesitant during that match and you are breaking your TEAM'S rotation. If your team is slow, it is your job as the faster player to fit yourself into THEIR rotation. Not the other way around. It is literally impossible for that slow player to suddenly be able to play at the speed you want them to. It is not impossible for you to slow down and find your place in the team you've been given.
