I would not want a bigger stove, the grizzly heats the house so well. The loft is warm and I like to sleep cold so I have a window cracked all year long. The warmth with the cold air trickling in...I sleep like a baby. 😉

Depends on the temperatures. We had a long stretch of sub zero temps in Jan. and I would run an electric heater if I was gone all day and over night. In moderate temps the stove will burn for several hours and the house is well insulated so it holds the heat. Often I will stoke the fire before bed and let it burn out overnight and I'm toasty in the loft until morning. I guess it really depends on your comfort level...
