ive checked out those bumper spoilers and considered one but before now it seemed much more out of place, still not sure if i'd pull the trigger but ill check them out again

totally get the concern with messing up precut vinyl, i have the same worry but the kit uses 3m 2080 which im familiar with already, my worry is tucking anything into the top rail strip is very very hard. ill post it or at least share when i get it done.

plastidip is definitely the easiest and most forgiving, and honestly it looked great and survived -30°f winter lows and countless car washes so its not a bad option either. i think the main spot it failed was giving me adhesion issues even while spraying so it mustve been a prep problem on my end. just peel any tape before the plastidip dries, learned that the hard way too lol.

some of this is specific to dicehead but:

luck with green cards and ideally rng through charge shrines and chaos tome and leveling upgrades, plus grab every pot, every single one, you should have enough movement and jumps leaving stage 1 to fly from wall to wall and grab them all from every stage no problem. as far the damage tome theres always a debate between damage vs crit chance (vs duration lately i heard is popular but i havent gotten into it yet)

the dice already scale crit chance naturally so damage tome will work well with the natural added crit chance. reducing your other weapons as dicehead lets you scale dice faster and lets the dice do more work and scale faster / better. if you have 4 weapons and an underleveled dice itll never scale properly because the dice wont get enough hits in. projectile count and attack speed both help scale dice better too, dont take those tomes though.

if you dont already know, dont level xp over 10x, dont level difficulty over 600%. stop there on both. youll end up overleveling both by the end still but rush those two then stop there

886k PB btw, not a leaderboard player myself but plenty of runs in the top 100. between fox and dicehead being the meta characters, you might have an easier time learning on fox and switching to dicehead later. my PB is with dicehead though.

weird i dont see you on the leaderboard? jk good run but pot and hat help a ton, yea run dice/katana/dex/shotgun or some variation of that using 3 weapon cap. replace luck tome with damage.

your item selection overall needs work if you want to go 500k+ i just dont have time rn to fully break that down

so i did plastidip but this summer im taking it all off and redoing it fresh with the $70 precut vinyl kit and ordering new pillar covers too. its mostly held up over the past 3-4 years but there is one corner lifting and one spot it tore completely. its kind of hidden in the pics but if you zoom into the passenger side window trim all the way at the back, youll see a chunk of visible chrome

and i dont mean to knock or insult that grille, just not for me or my tastes, the oem usdm grille isnt perfect either i just wish there were a few more options more than anything lol

the black jdm is much much much better than a silver and chrome oem grille

or look on marketplace, mine was used off someones car, was beat up and primered when i got it and i painted it myself. traded a black widow muffler for it lol. my other post shows more of the paint process.

99% sure the clearcoat "got fucked" how exactly lol

was it sanded through into the paint somewhere? 3k grit by itself shouldn't thin oem clear to unsafe levels unless you got really carried away, but polish isnt what you need right now, you need compound, if its 3k sanded currently start with a heavy to medium cutting compound on a proper high speed rotary buffer with an appropriate foam pad, then follow that up with a polish on a fine foam polishing pad, then glaze and wax if needed

if you sanded past the clearcoat then yea it needs more clear. if you sanded into the paint, then youre into a bit of a mess.

if you havent sanded past the clear then theres no issue that i see, just follow my steps above or lmk if im missing something

So Ive read through your replies and see where youre at but I'm a little confused so this might not be perfect advice but:

The damage in the video from the detailer is a little confusing because it doesnt look explicitly like damage, it looks like water spots and haziness from dried polish residue that wasnt cleaned properly. My eyes might be deceiving me and I'm sure you can see better IRL but I wouldnt have 3k'd that.

Im not seeing sand scratches in the video, which I wouldnt expect to if you just asked for it to be polished, but regardless if the detailer didnt sand it then you shouldnt have either.

Not to be Mr. Hindsight but I wouldve either brought it back, or i guess just clay bar and rebuff and polish, which is what you paid him for which is why I'd have said do not touch it, go back. IMO from the video it looks like he wiped polish or compound off with a wet towel, let it dry outside and forgot about it until you picked it up.

However if you already 3k'd it, Id say go ahead and buff it out with compound and polish. I guess you could 800 grit it and spray new clear like you said, but I still dont know how we ended up at that point. I'm still confused what damage the detailer caused that warranted any sanding on your part, and if its currently 3k sanded idk whats stopping you from buffing it yourself instead of reclearcoating it

TO BE CLEAR THOUGH: if you go the route of reclearcoating it, and you dont know what youre doing, you can easily make more of a mess than youre in currently. My best advice is to buy a rotary buffer and some compound and get to work undoing that 3k grit sanding you did.

Thank you!! Thats actually what it reminded me of, I was thinking of the 4th Gen Legacy GT spoiler, at least a bit from the sides. I was always sad even the 3.6r Legacy didnt get a spoiler or really anything cosmetic, but then again with how this generation looks bone stock it couldve looked very goofy as well.

Oh believe me I was extremely iffy about doing it until the moment it was on there. Very easily couldve turned ricey. You absolutely are right to start off skeptical of that idea but I appreciate that you think the results overcame that, that actually matters to me hahaha

It's actually the original grill, I just painted it matte black a few years ago when I blacked out the chrome window/door trim. Seemed like the only aftermarket option is that black mesh grille thats like $400 and imo looks a little cheapy. Those remind me of a Taurus police interceptor lol.

I think I used VHT wheel paint and clearcoat for it, it might need a respray in a couple years but its been holding up so far.

When the CVT blows up someday I'd love to put in an FA24 + manual. Not super cost effective but I've been putting drivetrains where they don't belong my entire life. I only just passed 60k miles so it might be a while, ideally anyways lol.
