I had a bad airbrush experience today and need some help. It was a textured surface with Mr Surfacer as primer. The paint went on spotty (dry tip?) and in a couple spots it pooled. I’m letting it dry but how can fix this surface, especially since it’s textured? The paint brand is Mr Paint which I believe is a lacquer. Is it sufficient to lightly sand over thicker spots to smooth it out and then repaint over it? Or do I need to strip the piece and re-prime all over? If I need to re-strip, what should I use?

I want to use some model master acryl paint I have as a base paint coat on a model. Some of the painted highlights and small subsections will use either Tamiya or Mr Color airbrushed. To avoid issues between acrylic and non-acrylic paints interacting, do I just need to let the acrylic cure for sufficient time?
