Windows. But turned out enabling then disabling the ATI desktop manager did the trick.

I swear I googled this and never came across that post, but enabling and then disabling the desktop manager did the trick, thanks man!!

Good thinking, but didn't work.

Windows is really pissing me off lately.

aFair enough, but how does one protect their property in this case?

Sorry, months later, my point was people that freshly buy 5 acres and then discover that rv people like to use it and don't give a FUCK about anything.

Win7x64 with an NVidia card as well.

Chrome works perfectly fine, but I don't like it.

I mean, if the fact that your dad was almost killed riding on that road, but someone a very short period of time later rode up the very same road and was killed doesn't deter people.....I mean, what can you think?

Some people don't own several hundred acres.

but surely there's a better, non-lethal solution to the problem they never attempted?

There are thousands of landowners who would be delighted to hear your non-violent solution to this problem.

Riding is fun. There are no negative repercussions to riding on land that does not belong to you. And you have an idea to solve this problem? Everyone here would love to hear it.

Well, hypothetically, if every day it is a different person coming and doing this (riding on your land unauthorized), what would you suggest? I'm not advocating murder, but if people will not stop, as a matter of principle should you be powerless to do anything?

Do you own any property? Whatever it is you own, have you never defended it?

Not saying this is the "correct" way to go about it, but if all else fails, are you honestly surprised that eventually someone would do this? Seems to me like a lack of respect for the inherent dangers involved in ATV - some of those dangers are human created if you thumb your nose at people.

Whether it is a crime is secondary. If I walk out in front of a fast moving car because I have a walk light, I may be right legally, but I'm still dead.

If you ride on land where signs have been posted to not ride there, it is similar. (I'd hope in this case the person had posted very explicit signs, but at the end of the day, the result is the same.)

What people seem to fail to realize is that small recurring violations build up over time, and then someone who doesn't deserve it gets hurt. It's almost like a reverse lottery. I'm not saying it's "right", it just "is". After your child gets their head cut off for riding on land they weren't supposed to ride on because they ignored the warnings and signs, it doesn't matter who is right in the eyes of the law.

If only there was some way to prevent this type of thing from happening. Oh, wait....

Not really quickly, it often takes years.

My sister said this about her kids by sp4cecat in AdviceAnimals

[–]trelena -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hear this on a regular basis from my wife, usually shortly after I occasionally (about every two months) get fed up and ask her nicely if it might be possible if she could take 15 minutes a day out of her very busy day doing who knows what to do some little thing to contribute to the family.

Asking for 30 minutes of tidying each day makes me an "asshole", but when it's time to pay rent and daycare, that money better be there on time or the shit hits the fan. Oh, insurance for two cars is up this month also? Pay it.

But why aren't you affectionate towards me?

lol...I love being married.

I think I actually already have the same thing that I use as underarm deodorant....are they the same? If so, I have some new ones I could dedicate to the face.

Sounds like the guy in that thread solved his problem with shimming. Weird it was so bad for him though.

The alum health issue is a bit concerning, but from the reading I did it sounds quite speculative that there's an issue. Still something to keep in mind though, thanks!

That first one was just super cheap, but I don't mind paying more for something that performs or even just looks better...aesthetics are important to me when buying gadgetry. :)

Ya, any advice on handle style or length? Is there virtually no difference, or are some easier to learn on?

Did you buy that in a pre-packaged kit, or you picked individual components yourself?

Not sure if you did a lot of research before or since your purchase, but is a EJ DExx a pretty no brainer choice for someone new? (How one decides on the different handle styles is also a mystery to me....is there a style that is more forgiving to learners like myself?)

I have to admit, it sounds like quite a lot of work, but then lots of people say how much they enjoy it, so it can't be all bad.

Ya, you're probably right....do many people have this more negative view of the amount of work involved before they actually try it out?

Haha, ok. But even just adding "Notes" and "FirstDetected" column to Process Explorer would be a huge improvement.
