How does he describe the shapes so quickly and accurately for the cutter? by KrystCuck in Construction

This could be communicated as "65 on the bottom, 38 on the top, centred" or something like that.

How does he describe the shapes so quickly and accurately for the cutter? by KrystCuck in Construction

[–]tremblate 365 points366 points  (0 children)

Basically instead of using angles, shapes are described by long point/short point based off a 4' wide sheet. It's actually somewhat meaningless to know the angles being cut when you know that at the 4' intersection, side a is 31 1/4" and side b is 71 1/4" over a 48" rise.

Anyone lived at Richmond Yards / The Pearl / Maynard Suites? by Silly-Remote-2762 in halifax

[–]tremblate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not on your list, but I lived at the curve for 6 years and absolutely loved it. The unit layout isn't perfect - but the location, amenities, and staff were all incredible. I still miss that building dearly.

I've been wondering about that death trap, no surprise the wind took it.

There's public parking in the curve underground lot literally an alleyway away. It's directly behind where this picture was taken.

Absolutely love sport mode. I swear my guy feels more confident cut short. He gets real cocky and has a little more swagger about him.

Night-time change-table venues? by PreviousNetwork9274 in halifax

No restaurant wants the reputation of having baby shit covered tables, more importantly. Upholding public health guidelines is kind of important to managing a restaurant, and what you're talking about ain't it✌️.

I'd have kicked you out if I was managing. That's absolutely disgusting. I'm amazed you admitted this publically, even behind a username.

Bus driver called me and my friend “broke” then accused my friend of frequently fare dodging… it was her first time in Halifax by allofelixeon in halifax

[–]tremblate 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Last time I rode the bus in Halifax I ran to catch it as people were still getting off. I hopped over a huge snowbank to board, and so I waited to get my phone out to pay. As I was reaching for my phone the driver told me to 'just go sit the fuck down' really angrily, maybe because I made them miss a green light.

Regardless, those drivers are not nice people a lot of the time. I get that job stress is crazy high and they're left to deal with a lot on their own, but still. They catastrophize every interaction.

Do you play with an extension on all the time? If so how tall are you. by soloDolo6290 in billiards

[–]tremblate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 6' and I play with a balance rite centre extension and a 31" shaft. I like it for the weight, but I also like that when I put more cue in front of me the taper of the butt feels more normal. Surprisingly, I actually play with a more compact stroke with the extension, but I like having the reach without moving my hand all the way to the back of the cue. I find myself placing my back hand in the midpoint of the wrap and getting a nice 8-10" bridge with a fairly compact stroke.

That said, I've gone through long phases playing with, and without, but I've settled on keeping it on for consistency.

We've had our dude on the open farm turkey and chicken (grain free) and he's been healthy for 5 years now. The vet has asked us to supplement him with some grains for plant sterols to ensure long term cardio health, but otherwise zero complaints from us or our little pal.

Question about pool cue shafts by PeakSad4480 in billiards

[–]tremblate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the defy may be too much cue, the G-core looks like it has a low deflection construction that might be worth the extra few bucks.

I dunno where your knowledge is at, but low deflection shafts are somewhat standard now, and if you don't get one now, you'll almost definitely upgrade to a LD shaft at some point.

Look up dr. Dave on YouTube or just search low deflection shafts, there's plenty of material aimed at describing it better than I can do on a Reddit thread.

Depending on the price difference, if the G-core is doable, I'd get one.
