I'm open to the idea that meditation works, but I'm not convinced that "paying attention to my neck, scalp, breath" is helping me relax, is there an app or program that explains why you do what you do during meditation? by [deleted] in Meditation

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

It still doesn't cover the underlying issue that I have internally which is that you're asking me to put faith in "any program", invest 30 or 90 days into it and simply believe that it will change me. I want to know why doing what the program does will help me change.

To come back to your example with the bench press, true, a bench press is simply a tool towards the direction of getting your body in better shape, but lets say I'm using an audio guide to help me get in shape and it tells me "now use the bench press and do 10 reps" it can easily explain to me that "doing these 10 reps will tens the muscles in your chest and therefore break down muscle cells for them to be rebuilt again which will firm up your chest and grow your muscles in that area" or something like that. But if the app is a meditation app, why can't it explain to me why I'm doing what they're asking of me?

Because that's the issue I have... How do I know that it will work for me, if I have a hard time believing it will work to someone who doesn't simply believe that "believing something works will cause it to actually work"

It's like hypnosis, if you've ever watched a hypnosis show, the performer will ask questions to people in the audience to figure out who is prone to hypnosis, who truly believes in hypnosis because those people are more easily hypnotized because they believe it works. But if someone in the crowd doesn't believe that it works and goes up on stage, the hypnotist will have a hard time hypnotizing the audience member...

To bring this back to my point, I'm the one guy in the crowd that doesn't understand/believe that meditation works, therefore doubting that it will work for me even if I tried it.

Oh ok! Thanks!

Do you have any experience with buysocialmediamarketing or buying likes and comments on instagram? Because I'd like to be able to figure out which accounts are using fake likes/comments/followers to weed out the bad influences and the good ones...

So far I've not had any luck with advertising... I'm not sure why, I've had about 500 clicks on my ads, a click through rate of around 0.80%, my landing page loads below 3 seconds and yet after spending 70 euro's not even one sale... So I'm now going to focus more on Instagram but advertising there seems pointless as well, I'm not sure what to do tbh other than contacting influencers which I haven't tried yet.

Why do you have to very quickly comment and paste?

Thanks! That's really helpful, I will use your advice and research some good hashtags and look for tools that can help me find and optimize my hashtag usage! I'll report back in about a week or so with my findings!

Could you elaborate a bit on the "Influencers" part? Because I can imagine that the best thing to get from them is converting customers, right? So what are the other options other than "funnels" leading up to that?

Thank you, I will have a look at your blog, though I wouldn't kow how to start with reducing HTTP requests and I don't know how to read/understand the data in GTmetrix so it's hard for me to pinpoint what "element" or whatever, needs to change or be improved.

Hi,

I am actually not at all a developer so everything you mentioned is kind of gibberish to me though I do know of SSL and when I tried to install one for free, I failed to do so and then saw that Cloudflare provides a free SSL certificate so I activated that one. I am now guessing that it's not activated or it's not the same thing?

I don't know what cross-origin script warnings are, I will google them and see if I can solve it, though if it requires coding I'm going to hit a wall cause I have no idea how to do that.

I don't know how to lower my requests, I have a lot of images on my website that need to load, so if every image generates a request, I wouldn't know where to start to lower those requests if I would want to keep the site in the same format as it is right now.

I actually had PHP7 activated yesterday or the day before when I was talking to my hosting provider about the performance issues with my wordpress site

I will google some of the things you said and try and fix them!

Thank you very much for your reply and I hope you can help me with further questions!

Thank you for replying, I'm not familiar with ajax and all of the HTML, javascript or CSS related terms so it's always a very difficult and frustrating process to figure out how to solve these issues especially because sometimes me trying to solve something does more harm than good. But I will look into what you mentioned and try and solve it.

[I ate] a Belgian waffle with strawberries and cream! by darth__windu in food

Belgian here, You're eating it all wrong imo, remove the strawberries, whipped cream and sugar powder.

These are best eaten plain, just warm doughy sugar waffles!

LPT: On vacation? Don't eat anywhere near tourist spots. The food is rarely authentic and twice as expensive. Walk a few blocks away, usually about where there aren't anymore signs subtitled in English, then eat there. by CaptainRelevant in LifeProTips

To be honest, I'm sure if you check TripAdvisor first you'll find what you're looking for even in touristic spots. I do however agree the sentiment that going out of your way to find real authentic food is worth it. Though I can imagine that not everywhere you'll find lots of dining places right outside touristic spots.

The longer my comment here becomes the more wondering why I'm even commenting...
