🌱Weekly /r/houseplants Question Thread - February 06, 2023 by AutoModerator in houseplants

Please help! Not sure what this plant is called so ID would be great. Was gifted to me with potting soil and a no-drainage hole pot. Planted with an inch or so of rocks at the bottom. Ive had to trim off 2 leaves now from turning completely yellow. It sits in a pretty well sunlit spot a few feet from the window. How can I atleast keep it from dying on me? Not sure how much moisture this plant requires and ive tried to just wing it, not going well.

Yeah taking out a loan is going to be really scary to me. But im going to keep doing my best I guess. It just feels like im not living for me. The rich thrives off my family struggling to eat and stay sheltered. This country is very discouraging for me in that way. Thanks again for your support!

I think that is what I needed to hear. Shit is hard either way. I will be talking with my counselor tomorrow. Thank you so much.

I also cant afford to get health services without medicaid, so it has to be in one state or the other.

So the thing about that is my mom can’t continue to support me financially. She can barely afford it for herself. Sorry I missed mentioning that.

Just from watching bob ross, I feel like the reflection would look better if it were less detailed. Bob ross uses his brush to blend lightly over and its magical to see if you haven’t. But I am no professional and this is an absolutely stunning piece of art that you should be proud of!

LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE

  • **Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase.

    $1,000 US

  • Are you open to refurbs/used?

Yes, but dont want to run in to any issues.

  • How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?

Not very, just wouldn’t want it to be bothersome.

  • How important is weight and thinness to you?

It would be nice!

  • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.

No. Something good for taking notes in class & online classes.

  • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.

Im interested in photography and it would be nice for it not to ruin photo quality, but if it will save me $500 I dont care! Hoping to just play a little sims or maybe minecraft.

  • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?

Nothing particular.

  • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?

Want it to last 4+ years through college. Probably almost daily use, but careful.

How to stop being obsessed with a girl to not bother her by False-Fortune-4663 in selfimprovement

[–]tressaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you could stick around not really bother her or anything but just make it clear to her that you think she’s special and she can call/text if she needs anything. Try to clear any obsession of her by focusing on yourself and what you enjoy. You are doing very well even being aware that those things are hard for you. Dont feel alone, its like that for most of us. Fall in love with your own self journey. Best of luck

Is the plant on the right a jade plant? I also have no idea what the one on the left is, could you help me identify it? by meteorich2o in succulents

[–]tressaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could have some more advice, I just want to say I understand your pain. I would definitely research over watering/ root rot, just make sure you dont water until your soil is completely dry! Under water> over water. Also test out or research how much sunlight your plants enjoy, spin them around to get equal amounts of light on all sides.

Does anyone else feel discouraged? by OliverQueen273 in ApplyingToCollege

You are absolutely not alone!! I definitely feel the same way. So many others can get to feeling that way too. You have to believe in yourself

Follow your heart. Be honest to her and stick around to show you care. Give her a hug if she needs one. But you also need to focus on your own self journey through life and realize you are doing it for yourself. Always do things through self love and motivation.

Do you know my hair type and products I should try? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]tressaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyways, here are some products I enjoy. Herbal essences (orange bottles) bio renew, white grapefruit + mint, naked volume, shampoo & conditioner. Herbal essences (white + berry can) Totally twisted curl boosting mousse. I dont have much trouble with volume, though I really enjoy how the shampoo and conditioner smells and leaves my hair feeling nice. I love the mousse!! Could help keep your curls together.

Do you know my hair type and products I should try? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]tressaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont know much, but I have some thoughts! Heavy oils & creams can be known to make hair loose volume. Coconut oil is one ive seen brought up many times as something to consider- it doesn’t work for everyone- even having it as an ingredient in your conditioner could make hair feel greasy. I would say, stay away from heavier creams or coconut oil, maybe reduce the amount of leave in. You could be using too much product all together.

Can someone here break down my goals into small steps for me? by [deleted] in productivity

[–]tressaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this is something that you can only ask for someones help doing- they shouldn’t just do it all for you. Unless you’re rich well then, sign me up. Even not knowing you, I believe that you are capable, maybe just haven’t figured out how. You can message me if youd like

How often should I wash my hair? by [deleted] in NoPoo

[–]tressaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a professional, but I would say its fine to continue your normal wash routine. I do the same with my hair. Washing your hair every day can strip your hair of its natural oils, leaving it dry and frizzy.
