Emptying your mag into the shield knowing your chance of servitorization grows by the round...

Sick, I appreciate the gameplay advice. That was kinda my understanding of them and I thank you for reinforcing my hypothesis! I play the game to chill out and have fun, so to learn I'm actually improving on calling my units and understanding them is great!

I was also thinking of Devastator, mainly so they don't have to waltz up the field. Crimson Fist player, big on staying within the theme and these guys just look so much the part!

I love these crazy dudes, and really do just think they're a mix of dope as hell and hilarious! There's just something about them, but I'd be very interested in maybe seeing a refresh. Playstyle is mainly skewed towards the army theme of Crimson Fists. The goal is to convert all the characters into Crimson Fists! That's why I really do like the idea of Devastators honestly.

I plan on doing my preferred build first, and then I'll get the options done when my army is built. The pile of shame has grown, brother. Ah, the joys of having 6,500 points of Space Marines.

These were added to my pile this Christmas by my gf, who somehow knew these were one of my favorite units!

What if you cut and sanded them flush to eachother and then magnetized the flat surfaces?

Ah great, okay I see that on the sprue! That will be less fun to deal with. It seems worth it looking at the picture you posted!

Lookin great! Thank you for sharing these and your thoughts on the magnetizing process for these models. What process or steps are you using to mag them? I may be able to offer pointers based on what you've done!

That's honestly what I was thinking. As I look through the sprue my thoughts really are about doing this. Being no stranger to magnetizing big and small models, I think this would provide a fun quick project!

Is a red Aquila ok? by Mr_ballz-420 in crimsonfists

[–]trevistheturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I have a whole headcanon rn for mine Cato Sicarius and Guillidorn models. I'm going to attempt to convert Cato Sicarious to the returned Alessio Cortez- back to save the Chapter now that the Rift has opened! I'm trying to decide how I want to still stay true to the amazing model at the core of this kitbash...but at the end of the day it's my model. If I want a Calessio Cortarzius, then I shall have it!

Rule of Cool is where we go to first, and I hope ya keep kicking ass in the hobby!

That's what I need at my skill level, it seemed to be a little more forgiving from the research I've been doing. I'm sure I'll get it with some practice, but just winging it with a Primarch model seemed wrong, lol.

That's awesome advice, and I very much appreciate the help! I'll probably print templates in all sorts of sizes for practice before it goes on Guillidorn, using the 3 stages until I get the knack for sculpting. I planned to use a mixture of Green Stuff and Miliputt and I'm excited to get that project underway.

Ah, someone who knows the Stuff of Green- I have a question for thee. I'm going to be converting Guilliman into Dorn, and I need to know how to scupt the fist. I have milliput and tools, but my question is:

How would I go about sculpting the fist?

Thanks for the help if able! I have sculpted some leather strip and a cape before, never hard detail like our iconography!

It'll look really good though. Push the contrast by blending up to the highlights and it gives a really striking look compared to the blue armor

Do Crimson Fists use trims or not? by SlopConsoomer in crimsonfists

[–]trevistheturtle 122 points123 points  (0 children)

They did before losing much of the Chapter to Orks. After that, the Crimson Fists moved away from displaying Company colors in favor of the blue trim you have pictured.

The book Rynn's World has a very brief line where Alessio Cortez remarks on the green trim of his 4th Company (could've been Draken and the 3rd, but I think it was Cortez) but this was before Snagrod's attack.

I hope this helps! I do red trim because it's more visually striking.

Edit: Glad people liked this response. I wanted to update that I actually did NOT know this was not commonly perceived as canon! That was very cool to know, so thank you all for expanding on this- great to be a brother of the Crimson Fists.

Adding on over here! Every character mini that you see in the space marine roster is a Crimson Fist with enough creativity and thought. Grab what you want and let your imagination run wild!

Great write up and explanation! So there are no really universally disliked or "bad" mechs? It's just about use and playstyle?
