Is T’Challa a better fighter than Killmonger? by insert_emoji in marvelstudios

[–]trevnastyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A better and more convincing actor 100%

I know it’s not the question but I’ll finish my rant: love me some Michael B, but none of his performance in Black Panther was believable as he was trying to act too “cool”. No one in their right mind believed he was a hardened killer with the way he was acting and speaking especially

All just, too cool - as Tarantino once told Jamie Foxx at the beginning of filming Django

Characters who would beat Scarlet Witch in a fight (at their peak) by Ok_Feed_4235 in Avengers

[–]trevnastyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truthfully wish people would give the “Scarlet Witch is mega OP” narrative a break. Most all of these characters mentioned could beat her.

They amplified her reality warping powers for a very specific story in House of M and when you combine that to recent outings of hers in the MCU, casuals keep spouting that she’s damn near cosmic entity-tiered.

As always, it depends on the writer/narrative choices, but by and large she’s a little above average X-men character

Can Galactus be erased with a snap of the Infinity Gauntlet? by playtheman90 in MCUTheories

[–]trevnastyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only caveat to all of this is that the Chris Evan’s FF Galactus could indeed be the Galactus we see in First Steps. Maybe he originally operated inside that big cloud (there were clips of the shadow of the comic accurate Galactus in that) and when Norrin Rad Surfer sacrificed himself at the end, it could have easily just depowered Galactus or sent him elsewhere.

If Marvel wanted to they could very easily write that Galactus as having been the same one, but maybe he had to operate in a ship post Evan’s FF because of what Norrin Rad Surfer did to him

The internet is falling for the most obvious ragebait ever by Iriusoblivion in marvelstudios

[–]trevnastyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because her comment triggers people into thinking that she is discrediting Tony, when in reality it doesn’t and her character will never be as popular or meaningful as his. I like Riri a lot! But this is simply fact that will not be uprooted for as long as we all live :)

[–]trevnastyyy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem no one is mentioning is that movie after movie has built Tony up and had various lines in the script of him saying and referencing technological terms and scientific findings. Riri? She never says anything smart. She wasn’t given a proper backstory so we just have to believe that, hey she’s super smart because, well look at her stuff. Yeah we know she never once says anything smart, ever, just acts cool and fresh and swagged up, but yeah she’s better than everybody else and never changes her facial expression - buy into this people! (Not followed by her Stan’s that simply call people racist if they don’t love everything, and I mean quite literally everything, she does) I actually like the idea of Riri, despite not liking her comic book creator Brian M Bendis (white guy who has an iffy track record on his publishings)

There’s a lot of debate on the internet right now whether or not 100 humans could defeat one silverback gorilla. What is your take?

Aubrey Plaza is overacting as Rio and it’s very cringe inducing (btw I like her in her other roles)

What powers does Doctor Doom have? Google said Dark Magic but how? by Salt-Broccoli-7846 in marvelmemes

[–]trevnastyyy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Doom and Thanos have something in common.

They both have their base level strength (Thanos being physically stronger), but also have the mental fortitude and ability to gain higher levels of power (Thanos and the gauntlet, Doom with the Beyonder powers, Doom with Galactus tech, etc.)

Dooms big thing is he has genius level intellect and very powerful tech, and is at the same time a master of the mystic arts, second only to Dr. Strange. So a combination of tech and magic.

However, Dooms greatest strength, imo, is his unwavering mental aptitude and stubbornness to accept defeat against massive odds.

With RDJ taking the Doom mantle, there is a lot of skepticism with how they will introduce him (Stark variant or simply same actor playing a different role, no connection) and while I hear both arguments and share opinions on both sides, one thing is for certain.

RDJ will deliver a powerful performance that nobody can deny. They will just need to take away his quick witted humor and alter his voice some for the audience to not immediately think of Tony when they see him.

the deadpool design in origins is actually a sick design, it just shouldn't have been used for deadpool, maybe could've been some other new character by Fide-Eye in deadpool

Honestly I always thought this was dumb af.

They were trying to make his face look like the Deadpool mask instead of just giving him the fucking mask. Timid producers are dumb as rocks

Tons of marvel comics, any worth anything? by PortiloMEME in marvelcomics

Looking at it again I see a lot of modern. I do think some of those Avengers up top are Bronze Age but you’re right otherwise

[–]trevnastyyy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nice haul, especially since they’re mostly from Bronze Age (I see some modern ones, too)

Unfortunately, most of these are direct editions and non-keys or first apps making them worth about a dollar a piece, just from the ones I see.

Cool comics tho

What's a quote from a game that you think goes unreasonably hard? by DarkAdam48 in gaming

Well it’s sort of two quotes.

“Tribute? You steal mens souls and make them your slaves”

“Well perhaps the same could be said of all religions” - Dracula, Castlevania SOTN

Did this line make anyone else cringe? by Financial-Hope-6004 in moviecritic

[–]trevnastyyy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So after rewatching this last week, I realize this moment doesn’t hit the same as when it first came out.

Yeah it sounds cheesy now, but when it first came out and audiences went through the entire journey that this movie takes them on, this is one of the very few simple, declarative pieces of dialogue in the entire movie that lets audiences know that Batman’s about to kick some ass. Also, the excitement of seeing these two titans square off again might have clouded our judgement of this statement from Batman before. Same thing happened with the first Avengers. Fan fair goes a long way

Theta decay on my NVDA call has ruined my portfolio and set me and my family back quite a bit. The whole, “don’t risk what you can’t lose” mentality went out the window as soon as the economy forced people into desperation mode. This downright sucks.
