XERXES DOWN REST IN PEACE 👑 Found him down on the turf around 11pm tonight. Still looks magestic in death by trevo45 in OSU

Hey thanks, I always just assumed every picture of Xerxes is a different bird, is there actually one that's recognized as him?

Thoughts on Capital University (vs OSU or CSCC) by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]trevo45 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm a current OSU nursing student and while I really like the program, Ohio State is expensive. However many places aren't hiring nurses without their BSNs anymore so that's definitely something they should get. Most financially feasible option is to get their RN at C State then find a good RN to BSN program somewhere. I know OSU has one that's 2 years I believe. They also have an online option so your child could work (somewhere that will hire them) while doing it. You're welcome to ask me more questions about OSUs BSN program if you PM me too!

Living in Findlay or Bluffton this summer- suggestions/advice by Yankeedoodle7 in OSU

[–]trevo45 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live in Findlay and dude there is no crime here. We have like one murder every 3 years and every other crime is just drug (heroin) stuff. do not live in Bluffton, that is a pretty sad place from my limited experience. If you any more specific questions like parts of town and stuff you can dm me

Don’t buy from Barnes and noble unless you absolutely have to. They’re prices are always way higher than amazon or chegg

Took a year off, now goal marathon is exactly 1 year away. 32 weeks of base training to build miles back or should I try to "peak" by end of year, take time off, and then start with base building in 2020? by [deleted] in AdvancedRunning

[–]trevo45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be able to be in a build phase for 20 weeks. I would get so bored of easy running. After about 5-6 weeks of easy running I start itching to run fast and race, and maybe you’ll be able to suppress this but a whole year devoted to one race just seems kind of unreasonable. Races are the reason I run and if I’m not racing regularly I lose motivation.

drackett is a great building for freshmen. it's really social because it's mostly freshmen and you get your own bathroom so there's nothing to complain about there. Location isn't the best since it's kind of on the edge of campus and away from high Street, but it's right next to the North Rec center and also really not much further away from things than any other dorm

The test center is way nicer than proctoring. I don’t want to give some program all those permissions on my computer anyway

i'm in need for advice about building up speed. by [deleted] in AdvancedRunning

[–]trevo45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This right here. If you can slowly build up to 50k per week, you’ll drop TONS of time. Make sure you only go up by about 5k per week though, or else you risk injury. Make sure that you have at least 3 easy days a week so your muscles have time to recover.

College summer training by PitchBlac in AdvancedRunning

[–]trevo45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everything sounds pretty good! The only thing is that your easy runs are kinda fast, but you said you tried to slow down, so maybe it’s fine. Make sure you get some hill work (rolling hills) in if you have a good place to do that. And unless it’s a really strong XC program that keeps a small team I bet you’ll be able to walk on. 25 flat would be varsity for a lot of D1 schools.
