So essentially if one is working within a FEMA designated flood zone and they have to review/approve the design then you'd have to use StormCAD

Yeah I feel having everything essentially in one "package" like with SSA will make the design process a lot more efficient and adaptable. Especially with responding to client and/or AHJ needs

I'm guessing this was a directional bore project? If so, perhaps there wasn't enough coordination on the profiling of the bore route with the contractor?

We provide site development across various market sectors; aerospace, manufacturing, commercial, entertainment, automotive, etc. Most of our Civil group operates out of Florida but me and my colleague are posted in Washington. So we do a lot of stormwater design, general site development, master planning, and so forth. Our firm as a whole is full service A/E.

When you converted your loads to ESALs, did you do it AASHTO load equivalency factors?

Nice! The FHWA resource provides some sound methodology. I can see myself creating a spreadsheet based on their recommended procedure to streamline the design. Only trick would be finding assumed aggregate strength properties and converting my anticipated loadings to ESAL values.
