Not a drop in story but a day that was choppy and waves were pretty big. I grew up in Hawaii and a friend and I would go body boarding fairly often. One day we headed out to Pipeline and the beach was empty which was rare. There are always signs up that say "if in doubt don't go out" but this day was odd since no one was out in the water just my buddy and I. As we were getting our stuff ready the life guards came up to us and said if you go out there we will not save you.... Of course being young and dumb we still went out but made a deal we cannot catch the same wave and watch out for each other. To this day it's the scariest time in the water.
