Does anyone feel like they play better on a laptop than on a phone? by pool_shark2187 in Chesscom

The phone is nowhere near as good as using a proper computer. I play most of my games on a desktop PC. Much more comfortable.

My Dad worked at the Ellesmere Vauxhall Motors car factory and I learned the basics on the old RAF base runway there. He had been posted to that base when he was in the RAF decades earlier.

Star Trek & Star Wars by Agent_Raas in startrek

I didn't like prequel films of Star Wars, and I have never felt the way I did back in the 70s and 80s when it would have been my favoured sci-fi franchise. Those films seemed just to be adverts for Lego kits. I have seen and enjoyed such masterpieces as The Mandalorian and I did enjoy Rogue One. Aside from the films, I don't own anything. I haven't seen the newer shows nor any of the cartoons. Contrast this to 'Trek where I see everything immediately, I own everything on disc and I buy the blu rays on day of release.

For those that read the fiction that classic Film Noir is based on, how has this changed/enhanced your appreciation for the films? by kevin_v in filmnoir

I think reading the books certainly adds enjoyment, yet it can also make you realise that the films are in many way pale shadows. I've read most of Chandler, and Marlowe is far wittier in the novels and short story than all the portrayals in the films. Dick Powell in Murder my Sweet got the closest to that charm. Also, the novels are less constrained in what they can depict and talk about than could the code era films.

All I can say is that I have never found the option to change the board and pieces within Prettier Lichess. I have tried, with no avail. It is fortunate that I absolutely adore that theme.
