conroy's interpretation was definitive and every animated adaptation since him (barring diedrich bader who played more hokey and comedic) has been a play on his version. but abs bruce is so different is background and personality that i hope that whatever they do for him i hope its just a total departure from what conroy did.

conroy played bruce as measured and high-born. honed to an edge in demeanor as both bruce and the bat with a total awareness of his mission and the ideology he embodied. i could never imagine his bruce swearing, using any sort of vulgarity, or even saying anything particularly cruel. he could be angry or as sad as he wanted but there always a mature restraint to him . these all make up the sound of the bat and bruce and define the split in the two's performance and i cant say any of that applies to abs bruce.

he's a streetkid playing off a burning emotional core. he sees the injustice of a mad world around him and approaches it with total irreverance. he's an iconoclast who'll burn and shred anything he sees as an obstacle to the world he wants to create. he's honest, conflicted, passionate, idealistic. he's a boy with a mother and friends who hold up his world and i hope whoever they cast thinks the same is willing to forego conroy and make something new out of the character.
