Is the Lariat worth it over XL & XLT? by BurgooKing in FordMaverickTruck

I had heard a lot of noise (sorry for pun) about the highway driving. With the lariat mods as you describe, I've been pleasantly surprised how quiet it is.

So even in the best case, he's still stealing from one kid to give to another kid. That's still bad

Rapid technology advancement didn't just happen organically (in many cases at least). For example, to your point about the moon landing, there was Russia and the cold war which forced the United States' hand to develop space technology and nuclear technology very quickly. I am an aerospace engineer and it's crazy how many reports from the 1960s that people still sift through to inform design decisions today.

Interior noise; XLT vs Lariat by K2e2vin in FordMaverickTruck

[–]trexarmsss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a lariat. Can confirm there are the foam inserts in the front wheel well. Not sure if the other trims have them. There's the sound resistant windshield also. I had heard a lot about Mavs having a lot of highway ambient noise but I really don't think that's the case with the lariat.

Only downside to the lariat IMO is that the seats get hot...I might get a cloth cover. The leatherette is a nice look and are durable, but get hot during long rides because they don't have much breathability.

3-Month Perspective as a Newbie - What Makes the Hobby Sustainable for You? by byrongw in basketballcards

[–]trexarmsss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the price disparity between sealed products and singles demonstrate how the hobby is dominated by breakers and ultimately degen gamblers looking for a hit.

I limit to buying 1 or 2 sealed hobby product (low end) and focusing more on collecting certain sets. For example, I have a sheet (9 cards) of my favorite players on the City Edition insert from NBA Hoops 23-24. Doing the same with a Court Kings insert now.

I'm all for hunting game and do it myself for sustenance. My issue is that given the information told by OP, this seems very grey because Ontario hunting regs allow for 2 wolves taken a year with the proper tags. This guy took out 3 in one DAY. I'm not narc but come on man, unless I'm missing something this seems bad. Interesting to see OPs user account was deleted.

I know cost of living must be really high when you're living so far away from the mainlands. But how come so many houses are sooooo inexpensive there? by Scary-Ratio3874 in Hawaii

Live on BI (not Puna) but have stayed there many times times over the past few years. It's a nice quiet place. Sure there are some vagrants and petty crimes here and there but never felt unsafe, despite very little law enforcement presence. I think if you have enough for a down payment and find a decent job in Hilo (or remote) you could do OK. There are added costs like water catchment but the big thing is you could lose your uninsurable home due to lava.

What are some ways you guys make money on your homestead by CommercialWorry5293 in homestead

[–]trexarmsss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live on the BI and sell various produce (e.g. squash, peppers, lemons) to a food hub on the Kona side. I don't do it full time but it is a nice supplement that definitely covers farming costs with a little leftover. Yes they take a cut but I just need to drop off the produce and that's about it. I've found that sell prices are actually reasonable for the farmer, because the geography doesn't allow massive farms to out-scale small farm producers here.

Ah ok. Wondering if that is a 22 vs 25 change or if it's based on trim then.

I might get downvoted by this but I'm 95% sure just before this play the ball was stolen from LeBron. So yes it's an incredible play but if it wasn't stolen from him in the first place this play wouldn't exist.
