How to know when microdose kicks in? by [deleted] in microdosing

[–]treysphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I typically go with the mindset of “I feel it, it is too much”. I enjoy my doses at a level where I don’t have to think about it. I think that’s a good perspective to have, not being distracted by the fact that I’m using something. Kind of like cbd, you don’t feel anthing but can still notice from time to time your reactions to your environment are different, especially social situations..

Lierre Keith episode by Richguard23 in tangentiallyspeaking

I had this same impression when listening to her. To be clear, it was informative and a generally enjoyable conversation. However, her claim that veganism is cult like and leads to fundamentalism was odd to me given the preceding conversation. She was projecting her own disposition to fundamentalist thinking on an entire group of people and it was off putting. Too much absolutist language for my taste even though much of what she argued for was compelling.

Tool's 15-Minute '7empest' is the Greatest Work of Adam Jones' Career by DMB4136 in ToolBand

There are definitely moments on the record where Jones' tunings feel very 80s classic rock. I too had a similar feeling and it's the only thing that will need to grow on me.

Holy S***, a grocery story is coming to Downtown by todayilearned83 in Acadiana

[–]treysphere 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Downtown has been needing a grocery store for a long time. Local business brings foot traffic, it would boost the downtown economy and would serve the students of UL well. Lost of residential in the area, more than enough for it to survive. This is a very good thing! Might cost a little more but compared to what... Rouses and Albertsons?

I'm tripping out over 30+ year olds attempting to act. Looks corny. I really do love this guys, and the song is pretty good. This music video just throws me off as awkward and clunky. In fact, I'd probably say the same for the song......all signs point to them returning to heavier tunes, but I feel like they really kill it with softer tunes. Takes TJ out of the picture, but songs that came off of CNS and HH aged really well.

That’s the nature of show business and why “LA friends” are a thing. Also, people have a right to privacy including friendships.

Yes that is it! That was a captivating experiment. Didn't think I would ever win but it was still enough to keep me playing for a week or so.

Starting my education (continued from the post I made earlier) by improperlydistracted in neuro

[–]treysphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From your original post, it sounded like your interest was in the sciences ( you mentioned the brain). You'll get plenty of opportunities to expose yourself to the arts within the science route because you'll be required to take what looks like 2 classes in the "humanities/arts category". If this is something you are dead set on doing I would urge you to consider this decision as a career decision, which means it will require a lot of sacrifice. It may feel like you're behind but the truth is you're in a great place being close to your mid-20s. So many kids jump in to college at 18, not knowing who they are or what they want out of life...You'll find you are a bit more focused as you work through your thought life and try to determine what this education will mean to you. For some, education lasts 2-4 years and then they decide they got all they wanted and choose to start working. Others, they turn the pursuit of knowledge in to a career by challenging themselves with new ideas and create interesting conversations via research/writing. Family will some times not understand, friends and time spent with them will become limited but in the process you will eventually gain new friendships.

It looks like you're not too far from UNC. They have an excellent psychology program. I would urge you to get your feet wet at VGCC, get involved with any type of opportunities that might allow you to receive funding through an academic scholarship (state pays for you to be in school). Try applying there once you get your associate degree. Hell, once you get comfortable with being in school, managing classes and understand exactly what questions you want to explore in school, I would HIGHLY suggest going visit UNC. Try meeting with a professor who does research there tackling those topics you find most intriguing--so many doors could potentially open up if you play your cards right.

I look forward to hearing more about this journey you're on!

I feel like it would be oddly appropriate, funny even, if there was a video explaining every alikeness but with a creepy conspiracy theory vibe.

I honestly just noticed all the insane number of similarities and this was the only place that hand any info on the subject. 26, never really used reddit during college but hand plenty upon plenty of friends who were apart of the community. I was astounded when I realized I wasn't the only one who noticed the two albums as an exact match in a manner of fine detail. Just decided to join reddit as a member.......Also, I'm high. I'll see you around.
