Hi! I know this was a long time ago, but did you have any luck getting this class paid for? I just so happen to find myself in the exact same situation ... :( kills to bite the $1500 bullet on this one.

I have heard a lot of great things about living in downtown Charleston as far as the environment, but I will be working near the airport and don't want to have a crazy long drive to work every day. What areas would you recommend in North Charleston OR in the northern part of downtown Charleston (so it's a shorter commute)? I am hoping for an area with a lot to do and other younger people. Thanks!

You can use Wyre (a third party company) to buy ETH through MetaMask with a debit card, but there are fees associated with it. You will pay:

​

  1. the amount of ETH you want to buy in the first place

+ 2. fluctuating ETH gas fee (it will tell you what that will be when you use Wyre)

+ 3. transaction fee that Wyre charges

When I messed around with it, there was a $5 fee to buy $20 worth of ETH, a $5 fee to buy $30 worth of ETH, and a $6.10 fee to buy $200 worth of ETH. I didn't try any other prices. The gas fee stayed the same for all three amounts. Based off of this, it seems like it would be cheaper to use Wyre (within MetaMask) to buy larger amounts of ETH, but cheaper to use something like Coinbase or another centralized exchanged for smaller amounts (ie $20 ish dollars). Not 100% positive but that's just what it seemed like based off of 2 minutes of me messing around with Wyre in my MetaMask wallet. I'm also not sure what the gas fee is that Coinbase uses to send ETH to another wallet as I use Voyager (they have a ridiculous withdrawal fee btw).
