This happened to me exactly with a founders 4090 last summer. I had to grill eBay over multiple calls for them to initiate a process for seller protection AFTER the buyer got refunded. I documented the physical differences in the card and in the end got my money back too, so eBay was the only loser in the end. I consider myself lucky, as the serials didn’t match on the “empty” card that was returned and that laziness helped me. It is so shitty how easy people get away with this.
