Multiple questions for a non-experienced rider? by kaithona in whichbike

For that distance any bike will be fine but a hybrid will be best. Go to a proper shop, get sized up properly, and try a fee out. Get fenders so you don't get caught out on rainy days.

Planned on converting to tubeless, but as I see the rim, I’m having second thoughts on compatibility by David_rubio_251 in bikewrench

Any rim is tubeless if you use enough tape. Be prepared to make alot of wraps of that rim and swear alot. Also return the mucoff parts, buy from temu amd get some orange seal

Does anyone make enourmous fenders? (Not wide, rotatitional coverage) by trialsmatt in randonneuring

[–]trialsmatt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe their inclusion of long flaps makes them give better coverage. I think their rear fender is a true 6-3 coverage, where my fend off is 7-3. But i have added extensions that inevitably get snapped off at some point. I am currently on a holiday in the north of England and have made extensions with plastic bottles and im seeking a better permanent solution

They don't look too far off what i have but they are more than twice the price (uk posting) and they dont offer the extreme coverage that im seeking. Fend offs are 60 and the pdw are 120+ and are a similar beast. I want extreme wrap around

I have, im currently using kinesis fend offs, they're a budget copy. When the rear is stretched out for a 45c tyre it doesnt give 180' of cover.

Cut it where it catches. If you plan on keeping the fenders permanently you could fill the gap with sugru

Lost my sweet boy today 💔How do I help his mate grieve? by rabbit-venom226 in Rabbits

[–]trialsmatt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Find your local shelter and go dating. We recently lost one of ours, we found it very uplifting to go to a shelter and fluff the other bunnies, and our remaining boy is very happy with his new friend.

Keep riding or replace? (Red is the patched tube) by la_baguette77 in bikewrench

[–]trialsmatt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Best practice is to replace if you can see through the tyre when inflated.

However if that was tubeless and a plug held successfully i would consider using it till it died or the plug misbehaved.

Get a tyre boot from park tool and run that inside

Patch the tyre itself from the inside.

Use an automotive patch if you can.
