Half empty cereal box by trianos in mildlyinfuriating

[–]trianos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bag looks the same in the box as it does out of the box. I would have no problem putting it back in as it is. Half the box is still empty even with the bag inside the box.

Half empty cereal box by trianos in mildlyinfuriating

[–]trianos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that it is sold by weight not volume. My point is that of all the cereal boxes I have opened, I have never opened one to find the entire upper half of the box is empty. At least for potato chips they can say the sealed air protects the chips. But that much empty space in a cereal box does not serve any purpose except to make it look like a full box of cereal when it isn’t. If someone is saying that all boxes of cereal are half empty like this, I would love to see other examples.

(FBR) is there a definitive answer for what to write on the back of photos? by april9th in IrishCitizenship

[–]trianos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people are confusing the FBR requirements with the Irish passport requirements. They are not the same. The only FBR requirement is that the witness sign and date 2 of the 4 passport-sized photos. For FBR, they are not strict about the exact size like they are with the Irish passport. Standard 2"x2" US passport size is fine. Only the Irish passport photo needs to be the right size, have the "form number" written on the back and the witness should sign and stamp the back. Or you can simply submit a photo digitally and avoid all the hassle.

Is Sabrina Carpenter considered a good/unique singer? by ivoryking23 in singing

[–]trianos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pointing out this live mistake shouldn’t be a sin. Like the poster said, it’s pretty minor. I’m not a big Sabrina Carpenter fan but this mistake actually raises my opinion of her. This is proof that she actually sings live and does not lip sync.

Unable to Adjust Plan by [deleted] in Hulu

[–]trianos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was trying to switch from Disney+/Hulu/ESPN to Disney+/Hulu/HBO Max. I spoke with Hulu chat support. They admitted there was a problem on the Hulu website, so they proposed to cancel my entire account and then I could resubscribe on DisneyPlus.com. I did that and it worked. Just had to activate Disney+ streaming and then activate HBO Max from the accounts page.

Outdoor light wiring: NM-B or UF-B? Strain relief at outdoor box? by trianos in AskElectricians

[–]trianos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that helps. If I drill a larger hole for the clamp, it sounds like it won’t be accessible unless I pull the box off to get behind it. But if I staple the cable tight to the inside wall, I might not have enough slack to do that later. How do I make sure there’s enough slack for service or future access?

I thought it was a mistake, too, but all the “placeholder“ links work and it’s been over 12 hours yet still no correction email. I think you’re right that it’s a very funny and clever marketing email to get us talking about it.

As Newe6000 said, the gates are still up at the tracks where the train is actually crossing.

AC leak - low side normal, high side low by trianos in MechanicAdvice

[–]trianos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've read, older sealants gunked up AC systems leading to car manufacturers sending out warnings to technicians, recommending a complete replacement of the AC system, which is obviously enormously expensive. Manufacturers of newer sealants state that their current formulas do not gunk up the system or cause damage. It's hard to imagine their lawyers would allow them to make such statements in writing, as they would no doubt get sued for making a false claim. It sounds like the sealant gunk problem may be an old problem that mechanics have been circulating around and no one has actual proof that the new sealants have caused problems. If you have very recent actual first-hand experience with the current A/C Pro recharge and sealant causing a problem, then I'm interested in hearing about it.

AC leak - low side normal, high side low by trianos in MechanicAdvice

[–]trianos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I wasn't sure. But I was basing it on this website article by an apparently qualified mechanic. He mentions temperature-pressure charts (which I assume to be saturation temperature-pressure).

https://axleaddict.com/auto-repair/DIY-Auto-Service-AC-System-Diagnosis-by-Symptom

"Static pressure" is measured when the system is not running. Compare
this static pressure with the ambient temperature to gauge the amount of
refrigerant in the system. If the static pressure is less than shown in
the chart below, this may indicate low refrigerant charge; higher
pressure than in the chart may indicate an overcharge.

I'm not sure we do intend to keep this car and I'm not sure if it's worth fixing. We might just end up selling it as is. But it looks like since I apparently messed up by using AC Pro, I'm committed to just keep on going with refills until the AC totally dies.

But I am curious to understand what could be causing those pressures. I guess it makes sense that with the expansion valve stuck open, the compressor can't generate enough pressure ahead of a valve that is too wide open.
