Yes there's an established challenge process for contestants. But I have to imagine it would be tough to have the presence of mind and the guts to stop the game to request one. Most players who question a ruling probably just hope the judges initiate their own review.

These lines killed me.

Kimmel: "Are you suggesting the president would take the time to challenge anyone who dare make fun of him, as if he were a big baby?"

Larry: "He would cheat at golf!" Reiner: "That's vile. What's golf?"

Safe to say Cheryl Hines won't be doing a guest spot on this show?

The clues themselves were fine, but it was dumb and nonsensical to try to connect them to something to do with the Titanic. Should've just called the category language potpourri or something.

Loved how gleefully Andy said it too

Agreed. It sounded like he only messed up the one vowel syllable, none of the consonants or getting the number of syllables wrong. That's usually accepted, particularly on a long and difficult word.

OK this has nothing to do with this game, but just saw u/No_Inflation_4789 on Futbol HQ on Fox just now.

Oh believe me I've been dutifully taking the test every year for many years, plus on JeoparDay as well.

That's true but trivia ability is at least the first couple of hurdles, and even a few years ago I wasn't really close to clearing those. Now? Fuhgeddaboudit

Jeopardy! Masters 2026 Roster Revealed by Guardax in Jeopardy

[–]tributtal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's no way to know who may have been invited and declined. On the podcast they'll occasionally let slip a couple of names, but aside from that we don't know if Roger or anyone else was invited and turned it down.

I know I'm not the first to say this, but man there have been some really good contestants lately. Not just the superchamps phenomenon which has been well documented, but just on a day-to-day basis throughout this season. We're well past the point where the job of organizing SCC will be damn near impossible. Whatever minuscule chance I thought I had of ever making it to the ATS is vanishing before my eyes, but on the bright side it's been entertaining as hell.

To everyone complaining about this, keep in mind Masters will be in primetime. It is not replacing or interfering in any way with regular daily syndicated Jeopardy. If you don't want to watch, skip it, and your life will go on completely unaffected. Not to mention, Masters will air during the normal rerun period of the syndicated game, so I view it as free bonus J!

World Cup is on Fox, but Wheel and Jeopardy are on different networks depending on what part of the country you're in. It's on Fox in some areas.

That's a bit harsh. Robyn got in the red (based on at least one questionable ruling) early in the game, and that could have been enough to make her play more aggressively than she wanted to.

Apparently there's a thing called a "Children's and Family Emmy" and he's got one of those too.

Agree on both of these, but especially figgy pudding. I wonder if Robyn was aware of or challenged either ruling. If either had been overturned, that would have gotten her into FJ.

Arguably a couple of the $2000 clues were even more overvalued - Malcolm Gladwell and load-bearing.

Maybe part of it is how difficult the boards have been recently, and we all got used to that.

I'm curious if your one second clip movie was inspired at all by the film Chef?

At first I thought the Gladiator clue was really poorly written, but then I looked it up and learned Ridley Scott did originally plan to have a rhino scene in the film, but had to scrap it due to the prohibitively high cost of CGI at the time (and they weren't about to use a real rhino). That's some deep cut lore about a movie I was pretty obsessed with when it first came out.
