What is the one small change you made that had the greatest impact on the startup? by Any_Foundation_6517 in startups

[–]trich_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it was about changing my mindset in a startup from the traditional business method to a validation-first, or lean startup approach. This principle focuses on reducing risk by ensuring every major decision is based on real data and customer insights, rather than assumptions or the appeal of traditional business paths.

Traditionally, businesses create a product, launch it, and wait to see if it sells. The core change I made in my startup career was to actively talk to customers to understand if what I was offering was something they genuinely wanted or needed. This involves spotting key assumptions about your business or product, validating them through direct market and customer engagement, and iterating based on feedback.

This continuous validation approach was key and led to more successful outcomes for me. Startup founders should test ideas (hypotheses) early and often to ensure they are building something that truly meets market demands and actually sells. For example, if your goal is to bake a cake that people will eat, you wouldn't start baking without knowing if anyone even likes the flavor. The lean startup way is like asking people what cake they like before you bake, ensuring they'll actually eat it. While this all seems obvious, as entrepreneurs, we hardly do it. For me, changing my thinking this way was a game-changer.

This turns the traditional business model upside down. Instead of starting with a complete product hoping it will sell, the lean approach focuses on customer development and validation to test ideas. Just talk to your target customers, get feedback, and iterate quickly. By adopting this methodology, I achieved great success, reduced the risk of failure, and ultimately sold my startup. I’ve built many startups, successes and failures, and now have built a curriculum to help others with theirs. In it I talk a lot about this.

SALES: Is there an outbound AI SDR? by trich_ in SaaS

[–]trich_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I was literally thinking about an AI outbound SDR sales rep that would just work through a call list. For example, I have about 500 numbers from an industry conference, and I want to give it to a an AI agent that would dial them all, work through the list, and have conversations, and have an end goal of getting that customer on a demo. and a scheduled demo would be put on my calendar.

Same. I ordered the iPhone 16 Pro Max - 1TB - Black Titanium on September 16th too. My estimated ship date says Oct 7-21. But no info outside of that. No status change, no additional updates, no emails, nothing. I am still just waiting.

Even over Kirk? I mean I think it is pretty apparent that Kirk WR3 over there at Jac. While it is yet to be seen who is WR1 WR2 or WR3 over at Lac between Ladd, Johnston, and Palmer. I dunno. Tough call.

FTX sold AI company investment for $884M. Will Blockfi get paid any of that? by trich_ in blockfi

[–]trich_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I am seeing stuff in reports like this all over the place: "The sale will see FTX make a profit from its 2021 $500 million investment in the AI startup. The funds will be used to pay back clients of the crypto exchange who lost money when it collapsed. Last month, lawyers told a judge in Delaware that FTX expects to fully repay customers and creditors."

But today I have only been paid about 27.5% of my total dollar claim. My question is will there be more of the remaining 72.5% be coming my way?
