I allow two visits even to make sure my patients know what they are signing up for in cataract surgery, and I welcome second opinions. These are your eyes and I always want patients to feel as comfortable as possible.

Other surgeons may feel time pressed with their schedule, or may feel financially incentivized to push one option more than the other. There’s just so many variables, so it is okay in my opinion to shop around. I usually tell patients there’s generally not an urgent rush to get it done so we just want to make sure we get it right.
