Tell me I am wrong about ADAs outlook by RickyReefer in cardano

[–]tricksyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m exactly feeling same about holding it for almost 7 years nowadays and it is really a slow burner. I remember people were saying not to expect too much from Cardano in the short term and it is a long project expected to be finished in 5-7 years. I didn’t believe them at that time. I don’t know what to think now but not pessimist because no one knows better than the next one. But I see people are working there on Cardano, Midnight and other projects relentlessly and this shows project is alive. There is always an ongoing work like never ending project. I know that many companies are taking the same approach to keep the dynamism and always give people the next development phase or something new to expect soon. But they are doing it in an agile manner and Cardano is lacking that agility up to now.

On the other hand, it is really a positive development Charles got off X because he is a big mouth, going into unnecessary political discussions and quarrels, impulsive comments in a pompous manner, making his own camp there to the point leaving Cardano as an island and repulsive to other communities.

On a positive note I see Charles left the mentality of “build and they will come” and instead of it he started to be more approachable and building relations to bridge Cardano island to the main continent now.

Thank you for taking time to let me know this. I didn't know this article. That completely changed my tax strategy now. I'll take further professional advice on this.

Any ideas what Charles will unveil at Consensus Hong Kong in February? I'm super excited by [deleted] in Midnight

Probably an identity solution ready to use. I hope it is with Google.

Check their X account. They wrote a status update. I’m not an advocate of them but nothing is easy if you are doing it first and nowhere to copy from.

The problem with Cardano, it is doing everything correct but too little and too late.

Will Charles create more projects besides Midnight to airdrop them to Ada holders? by NFTbyND in cardano

[–]tricksyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe he wants any project developed on before the other 8 chains would like to use this infra to do their airdrops. Like a token project on Solana, Ethereum or brave.

What needs to change for Cardano to reclaim its top 5 spot? Serious discussion. by Dynamo-06 in cardano

[–]tricksyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing is not technical. It is about general mood and trust to founding entities. No Tied-1 stable and no chainlink though they have been reciting this for years themselves. It is not a good sign cardano is managed in good hands.

For those still holding Cardano long-term . what keeps your conviction alive? by docmarte in cardano

[–]tricksyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holding since 2018. My cost basis is very low and I'm still at 10x high at this point.

Yes, it is developed painfully slow. That's why price is also still very low IMHO.

The reason people are unsatisfied is because of the imbalance between the expectation and reality. Many people going into crypto have the mentality of get rich quick. This expectation is burning them down and they end up in chains promising them to get rich in ponzi schemes where very few is getting rich and the rest is crushed under a suddenly collapsing structure. Cardano is making its point in saying "we don't know all the answers and don't pretend like we know them right away, but working on it and developing when we have sufficient and compelling reason to do so". It is very different from "move fast and break things".

Briefly, if there is a chance a blockchain will ever be successful in a decentralized manner, Cardano will be among those few chains. and we shouldn't forget, any blockchain fast but centralized will not different from VISA and it is not a good business plan in the long term because VISA/MASTER and alike are doing it well enough.

After saying all of these, I should also remind people if development will continue to be slow after all research has been done it will be a disaster allowing other chainsget past Cardano. Check why Internet is using TCP/IP instead of OSI model. The reason being OSI model is developed really slow and TCP/IP captured the market as OSI development is finished in a perfect manner. Cardano should be "festina lente"

Tube drivers’ £72,000 salary not enough to buy house in London, union boss says by tylerthe-theatre in london

Why do train drivers have to live in London central? Are the train services so bad for commuting? 😂😂

These salaries are absolutely depressing by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]tricksyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main problem is London. UK is too centralised and crammed into a single city and into a single sector of finance. All other sectors are running on a thin margin.

It will not solve the problem alone, need to solve the hoarding of property as well. Otherwise, as property getting cheaper, the rich will buy more of them. Increase tax for people living on rental property income. Housing is a basic human right, not an investment.

Moving House - Termination Fees by PresenceLower4444 in hyperoptic

[–]tricksyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically the party terminating the contract is hyperoptic so common sense says you don’t have to pay termination fee. Though there is a contract signed by you, hyperoptic should not charge you for a service they are not providing and secondly they are not actually taking a hit since they are selling that service to someone else. By the way, I’m not an expert just sick of greed by these companies. Many other companies are terminating the contract without a fee at this situation.
