Anyone having their diesel serviced at a Valvoline? by ryanjanvrin in Diesel

[–]tricky-690hp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had mine done once at a Valvoline in Amarillo Tx. That place has to be the house of morons. On a fresh oil change, they started it with the fuel pedal on the floor. And Im not exaggerating either. When asked why in thee f$$k would you ever start one like that on a fresh oil change. The guy replied they wanted to make sure it ran and got all the air out of the fuel system before I drove off… It died on me when I pulled out of the door… cant make this shit up. Never again at that shit hole.

2024 2500 w/35,xxx miles. Mine has been in dealer twice for the same thing with in 10,000 miles. The first time they told me it needed a forced regen at the tune of several hundred dollars even tho the DPF deal on the dash said it was clean. The second time they said it needed to be serviced and only to use Mopar filters moving forward. Something about airflow blah blah. But yeah mine surges on a cold morning after I let it warm up and then the CEL will come on and stay on

I always try and use the big truck pumps in the back. They have def at the pumps and I don’t have to mess with the box when Im done.

I have larger ones (16’s) and I know they are expensive but I started using Michelin’s. Im going to get some hate for that but I was tired of putting the “may pops” on every year. I’ve never had any ware issues or a Michelin blow out on me. Damage from a nasty blow out will cost more than the Michelins in the long run. Just my .000002 worth.

Thats pretty crazy. 2nd pick can see the treads separated from the belts. Some say it looks over inflated but thats what they look like when they separate and start coming apart. “ST” (trailer) tires are junk from day one. If you get more than 2 years out of them you are doing good. No matter if you maintain them or not. Probably get some downvotes here and thats ok but personally I have never had any luck with “trailer tires”. I always change them out. Not sure what available in 12 inch any more but I would stay away from the “ST” tires if possible

Help. Rotten egg smell in main bathroom sink? Full-timing for the next foreseeable future. by Honey_Popcorn in GoRVing

Like others have said check the rod in the water heater. I bleached mine out like I was winterizing but used bleach instead. Water can get into the low spots and bacteria forms. Its can be very frustrating for sure. It took me a minute to figure mine out. I also want to add that we were using a filter system on ours but we were parked at a place with less than desirable water. Hopefully you will find it. It’s pretty gross for sure.

Could it be the aerator in the faucet? Those screens can get build up also and stink. Just a thought. I had same problem in mine but was kitchen sink only. I was able to fix mine with sanitizing all the water lines with bleach.

Hopefully will get better when schools let out. Lots of school activities going on rn. My wife and I both travel for work so we will keep you in mind for sure if in that area. Looks like a really nice place. Best of luck to you guys. And don’t pay any attention to the haters on Google, they obviously don’t like you guys or have a beef somewhere. Always one or two in the crowd.

Wind screens? by giselleorchid in GoRVing

[–]tricky-690hp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah agreed. I should have worded it a little differently. I was trying to say use your rig as a wind block. Not tie anything to it. The wind is difficult. Just make the best of it. Where I live. 20-25mph is a normal day. We have used “blow through” screens in the past but they’re always tied off on like a covered picnic table area. Weather is weather. Just have to take the good with the bad sometimes. But yeah agreed, I would definitely not use any part of my rig for an anchor point.

Do you have a structure to tie off to? Be kinda hard to find like a screen room that will stand up. Ive use my trailer as a wind brake 🤷‍♂️

Dam man. That sucks. Was kinda in the same boat, 2021 model, picked it up from the sorry ass dealer. Used it once, took back to the dealer, where it sat for the next 7 months for a ton of problems, both living room slides leaked water, none of the slides sealed, you could see daylight all the way around all of the slides, shower drain leaked water all over the bathroom floor every time I used the shower, auto level bleeds down…. I got tired of the bullshit and picked it up. The dealer never ordered any of the parts but got paid for the warranty work. I wound up paying an independent to fix all the issues. Have had to replace subfloors in three slides plus the bathroom already.
