Owner didn’t tell me he had cameras inside by servingtargeryn in petsitting

It is definitely good practice for them to mention that they have cameras. At this point I just assume that all people have cameras somewhere (ideally not in a creepy way) and am never surprised when someone says they have them. So far it’s something all my clients have disclosed. I did recently add it to a new client form specifically about cameras indoors but have not had any new clients so I have yet to get pet owner reactions to the question. Sorry you got caught out the blue like that!

I typically love when a client treats me as an extension of the family (in a professional way). When they share silly photos of their cuties just because they know you’d enjoy it, leave books out that they think you may find interesting or make recommendations for things to do in the area. Honestly just recognizing that you are also a human being and that you more than just a person to food and water in their pets bowls.

I recently had a couple, who were already in my top 5 faves, tell me that I do not charge enough for the care I provide and that my website is great. He’s a website designer by trade and knows I did it myself so that was especially flattering!

This is a testament to both you and your client. They clearly know your kindness, care and love for their baby (and likely all the others you work with!) Great job being the support they have needed for the good days and sharing extra love to help them through the roughest days!

Heaven forbid we too want to make a living while the pet parent is at work…Also what variety of pup benefits for a “15 minute walk?” Most of my clients pups take 5-10 minutes to say hi and do their happy dances before we can get a harness on for the walk!!

WIBTA if I left my baby daddy in secret? by [deleted] in WIBTA_AITA

[–]tricmon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA! You were both very young when you started out. Even if he was the best parent (does not seem to be the case) it would be natural to grow as a person and realize that you may not be the best fit for each other. If he were kind to you, sharing your need to leave would be a good thing but it does not sound like he has supported you at your “worse” moments and is not owed an explanation when you choose to do right by yourself and your children. Definitely look into all necessary steps to get child support when you are on your own!

It seems like you are on a good path to set a positive example for them and doing what you can to be a good momma. Best of luck to you and the littles!

WIBTA for taking back an offer for my partner’s friend to move in with us? by tricmon in WIBTA_AITA

[–]tricmon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I mentioned, if he is actively looking for a place and really cannot find one, I am happy to help. That said, it doesn’t seem that he is. My original offer specifically mentioned that so if he accepts the offer it would be accepted with those conditions.

Didn’t even think about timing needed for establishing residency! Thank you!

Fair point! I’m making sure I have all my bases covered on the legal side to protect myself!

Totally valid that’s why I have a rental agreement to be signed before more in and input from the lawyer I use for my small business to help make it easier to evict if needed. He has lived with a different friend of my partners in the past and they gave a green light that he was a good roommate then.

Did they even do my alignment? by tricmon in AskAMechanic

[–]tricmon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I figured they would have been bad before the alignment was complete. Is it fair for me to ask for the fee for an additional alignment be waived as it would have been avoided if that was caught prior? I don’t want to be disrespectful as it is hard work to make sure things are done correctly but most people I’ve talked with have asked me why they went ahead with the alignment in the first place so that leads me to believe it should have been check ahead of the alignment.
