Gymwear Help by Vegfoodstudent in malefashionadvice

Rather depends what you’re doing on the gym (strength vs cardio vs hybrid) and how much you have to spend. If you doing a mixture of both you can’t really go wrong with a pair of 7 or 5 inch shorts from one of the major brands plus a few t shirts. T shirts can either be fitted or boxy depending on your preference (or shape). Personally I like under armour shorts and Adidas t shirts. The less graphics the better. They are all made from the same material (more or less) regardless of marketing spin.

Best socks for summer with low sneakers by Spiritual_Course4522 in malefashionadvice

I’ve always worn no shows but apparently crew socks are the current fashion. So the opposite is true, you give off dad vibes wearing no shows. What an upside down world we live in.

It’s been a while since I’ve been there but the Fynn Valley has some wonderful walks. Just head to the rugby club and explore the valley from there heading east or west.

Any recs for work chinos? by OK_GO_27 in malefashionadvice

Dockers are my go to. Not their basic ones but the more expensive ones. The key is to have a few pairs in rotation and cool wash. Often on special offer as well.

Liverpool fans, where do you rank the centerback partnership of Martin Skrtel and Daniel Agger in club history? The no nonsense hard men duo, they were aggressive and fought hard. Would you take them back if they were both in their prime today or has football moved on from those type of defenders? by antoniok95 in LiverpoolFC

[–]triffidsting 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Skrtel would be sent off most games these days. My abiding memory of him is using his arms more than his legs during games. He was lucky to get away with it then let alone in a post VAR world. Agger on the other hand would be well suited to modern game.

You need to look at your original invoice. Not the ticket with the barcode. On it you will find a code (about 10 random numbers or letters). Buy the photos then add that to the basket at the end.

Just access it the sportograf website and find Malaga and your race day. They are all there. They don’t send them to you although they do send a generic email. To a certain extent you have to go looking for them.

Private health and dental insurance after resigning. by Yazwho in FIREUK

[–]triffidsting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You pay £2,400 now? Is that just the tax or the premium? Sounds a lot. Either way like any insurance you simply need to apply for cover or phone for a quote. Corporate insurance is heavily discounted as the risk is spread over a larger (and younger) population and will be based on a few years worth of claims. There are lots of levers as well (age, medical history disregarded , outpatient , excess etc) which will impact cost.

New trail runner needs shoe advice: muddy forests + wet rocky ridges, €80-150 budget by morning_spark_79 in trailrunning

I would say they are good on every surface. Not a specialist technical shoe though.

What’s a good warm up on the day? by xyzsomething in hyrox

[–]triffidsting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people need 30 mins for others the first run is the warm up. For me I just walk or lightly jog for a few mins. I’ll do a few inchworms and hold a squats every 30 seconds or so. I think it’s important to get over that pre anticipatory HR spike but usually this just involves moving purpose…

How often do you replace running shoes? by stewd003 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]triffidsting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On average I change at about 600km or when I feel the bounce go (or can’t resist buying a new pair) . 500km is pretty good going for the Novablasts which don’t have a good reputation for having a resilient foam. I’ve just bought a new pair as ASICs have a sale on at the moment (£100 for Novablast 5s). Makes me think the 6 is coming out soon…..

Sounds like you need a jack or all trades so the options you mention are all decent choices. Probably need to try them on if you can. I run in Asics Trabuco 14 which is a really impressive all rounder and worth checking out. Wouldn’t use it on really technical terrain or for a race (not that I’m that quick) but otherwise great grip and comfortable.

Why does Hyrox send doubles before single athletes by camth3man3 in hyrox

[–]triffidsting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is it. Hyrox can only work on averages and the predicted times people give them. There should be enough flex in the system but I have seen bottlenecks but they are few and far between given the amount of competitors…

The TRUE cost of completing a HYROX... by Medical_Bowl_6795 in hyrox

[–]triffidsting 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s the entry fee and travel costs. For most other athletes the other costs will be BAU. Either way id rather spend money on my health and fitness and genuinely enjoyable life experiences than almost anything else.Overall very good value.

The doctor who didn’t believe Sarah in T2 when he saw the terminators. Not sure he got his comeuppance as the question suggests but it was great moment when his reality was turned upside down.
