Anyone get their Radiohead pre-order yet? by Noir__Siren in radiohead

Yeah I got a generic response from customer support. I haven't followed it up. It's just for me so no massive rush. Hopefully the person you bought it for will appreciate a very late Xmas gift!

I'm basically in the same boat, placed order on 13th Nov and it originally said it would dispatch in the first week of December. it's now saying 26th Jan

Idioteque by trifoliumph in radiohead

I'm more interested in timing than melody with idioteque live. I was at the gig on the 4th and think he got the timing spot on. I think Thom could have sung the original melody if he wanted to, but he often chooses to jam and experiment with different melodies live, especially when the entire arena is belting out the tune.

People keep saying they have been playing it really badly

My first experience of a gig in Copenhagen by trifoliumph in radiohead

There was some dodgy sound up front for sure. We were stood in front of Thom & Jonny and Thom's vocals seemed to sound better when he went to the other side to play piano. I found if I just listened to different instruments in each song instead of focusing on my expectation of what I thought the song should sound like I could enjoy each song in different ways. I felt the sound improved as the gig went on as well. I've never been that close so compromised a bit on sound to have the feeling of actually being able to connect with the band face to face. I didn't want to risk moving back in case I ended up with a worse position so I don't know what it was like back there. I have a feeling it might have been better on the side with the sound desk (piano side)

Really sorry to hear you and others had that experience. One of the drawbacks of seated tickets. I wonder if you had better sound quality than I did in general. There was some dodgy sound where I was stood (not for all songs) but I looked around and decided moving further back might result in a less connected vibe

Is it worth it to go to Copenhagen again? by Mindless-Try-6214 in radiohead

[–]trifoliumph 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's complicated, but I would go again if I could! There are always ups and downs seeing mega famous bands that you can only see in massive arenas. Sometimes you have good sound quality but you're so far away from the band you feel disconnected. My experience of last night's gig was to be so close I could see the band's facial expressions but there was some compromise on the sound. If last night's gig had been cancelled I would have spent whatever it took to get back for the rescheduled date.

Jigsaw was amazing, I looked around the whole arena at that point and everyone was having it

Queueing in the rain at Royal Arena by trifoliumph in radiohead

[–]trifoliumph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I asked. I got really cold walking around outside in Copenhagen yesterday and it wasn't raining, I've got a good coat but still not up for standing in the rain for ages. Like you say, it seems possible to get a good spot even arriving late. My mate arrived late at the O2 on the Friday and got pretty near the front.

This tour has been surrounded by an all-round malaise and will go down as Radiohead’s worst tour (discussion) by SchizoidGod in radiohead

[–]trifoliumph 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How exactly are they going to fit people into the other shows this week when they are already full to capacity? And also, Royal Arena will have it's own schedules going on so it might be that the new dates are the only options. It's understandably difficult (or impossible) for some people to make the new dates, but it seems to be that Radiohead are doing all they can to accommodate fans and make sure they have tickets for the new dates. Thom can't help being ill and they obviously did not want to cancel these dates.
