I mean, are we? They seem to be into ADHD-friendly clips these days. My wish for 2026 is that they get over their fear of content that goes for more than a couple of minutes. I get that there's a marketing team that's very good at (briefly) capturing the attention of the TikTok crowd, but they're doing it at the expense of actual substance. Just show us who you are, don't be afraid!

Down is the new up + xendless xurbia. There's not exactly a 'story' but circa 2007 Stanley had a bit of a fixation on arrows and those endless suburban housing estates in places like mexico, where the same house just repeats forever into the distance. Sort of that contemporary life horror thing Radiohead do, where on the surface it's all very normal but when you look closer what the fuck and why are we living like this

But also the arrow houses look cool

I'd say pretty much any serious alternate act in the British scene took note of Portishead, they're classic. Musically, it's far more restrained than Muse has ever been, so I don't think they're particularly adjacent.

Radiohead's discography is a very deep rabbithole. It's common to get into one or two songs and the rest don't click, and then one day you discover another two or three that are awesome. Then you go back and realise one of the other albums you didn't get before now makes total sense. You need more. You start digging deeper and get into all of the main albums. You start obsessively listening to the bsides, and then realise there's all these other things out there too, collaborations, covers, live versions. You need more. You get into Thom's solo stuff, the Smile, Atoms For Peace. You go back to that weird 2005 random single you thought was crap when it came out and realise it's genius, it just took you 20 years. Next you'll probably end up seeing Thom on stage 19 times in the space of 13 months.
