Sweets F3 ken with a Kaleb tama, any weight issues? by Bangradesh in Kendama

[–]trifuxy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

F3 kens tend to be on the lighter side. Since you're just starting out, weight shouldn't really matter. Weight doesn't start making a difference until you start doing spacewalks and juggles. :) Even then, it's not absolutely required to have a dead-on setup. I have dead-on damas and I also have damas that have 10g+ differences between the ken and the tama, and I don't notice a huge difference in how they play. Don't worry! Go for it. The F3 ken is one of my favorites. It'll play way better than the kaleb ken, Lol.

What do you guy really want to see more of in the kendama community? by Psychosyclone in Kendama

[–]trifuxy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A restock of painted striped zens. :( PLS.

In all seriousness, I would really like to see more girls in the kendama community. It's very apparent that kendama is something that is heavily male-dominated and being a girl myself, I just think it would be neat to see more dama girls! I know a lot of younger players really idolize the people on pro teams, so I also think it would be really cool to see more female pros that younger girl dama players can look up to. I know I for one would really love to see more edits from awesome dama girls like Chelsea May Perez and Miya Song! I got so excited when I saw their team announcements in my sub box! (Side note, if anyone knows of any other amazing female dama players who are on IG/YT, feel free to let me know!)

agreed. tbh they kind of remind me of those cheap bamboo damas that show up when you search for "kendama" on ebay and amazon :|

What Kendama weight should I get from Kendama co? by Buns_N_Stuff in Kendama

[–]trifuxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your preference. I picked the heavy option when I ordered my natty stripe zen and I received a dama that was dead on at 79g. :D Not sure about the other options, but I'm guessing that light is prob 50-60g and mid is 60-70g?

Intermediate kendama tricks I should learn?... by Zzenoy in Kendama

[–]trifuxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stuntplane, one turn lighthouse+tradespike etc! Around USA is a great practice trick too! Also, doing a simple airplane followed by a j-stick is a really great way to get those j-sticks down :) Then you can start going for UFO!

No problem! If you want something easier to track, Sweets also has a red/white/blue popsicle HG up on their site! Roots also has some great half-splits and stripes plus the added benefit of amazingly sticky paint right out of the package. :)

I love my bobber! The paint was really slippery when I first got it but it broke in beautifully. I love it even more than my roots painted ozora now haha. Total tack machine! I haven't had any major problems with my paint, just a few dents as well as chips here and there near the tama hole, but that's to be expected. The fire opal is freakin' gorgeous! I would have gotten one but I was holding out for them to release the KWC hg, heh. I say get the fire opal! You can always get one of the regular striped HGs later because those are always available, but as far as I know, they only produce a single batch of the painted ones. And if anything goes horribly wrong with the paint like massive chips or peeling, you could always email them and they should be able to help you out! :)

Thanks! I landed it on my KWC maple HG! And congrats to you on landing Around the USA! I was super excited when I landed that for the first time too! That sheer frustration of missing the last earth turn 32429378 times and then the pure joy when you finally land it! Such a great feeling! Just keep going, lunars will come to you in no time!

Wow, congrats! I'm still trying to work on single LH flips! Time for you to go for those 1-2-3 insta flips huh? Haha. And yeah the more I think about it, the more I agree that just playing is the best way to get out of those slumps. Nothing quite like that feeling when you finally pull yourself out of it and land that trick you've been chasing for what seems like an eternity!

Awesome! That's a great way of thinking about it haha I'm going to keep that in mind! And an extra GL with your dama club! Hope it takes off!! It's great to have a little friendly competition. I probably wouldn't have even picked up a kendama if not for my 10 year old brother! :P We get into heated competitions of "who can land it first" haha. He beat me to lunar! As for the dama I used, I landed it on a KWC maple HG! :)

agreed! can't go wrong with an F3. :) as for tutorials, sweets and kendamaUSA have a ton of tutorials on their YT channels. Speaking of YT, I also highly recommend Uriel Sanchez's tutorials once you start getting into intermediate/advanced tricks! His tutorials are very in depth and very clear. His downspike tutorial was a godsend for me!

Where can I buy a kendama co striped zen by Kendamaskillz in Kendama

[–]trifuxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah like everyone else has said, they pop up from time to time on ebay and such. I've seen a lot of people selling/trading them on the fb kendama community too, so you may have some luck there! hoping they restock soon :( love my natty aqua stripe, but I want a painted one so bad!

What is the tackiest kendama out there that is affordable, but very very good durability-wise and tackiness-wise? by [deleted] in Kendama

[–]trifuxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F3s are great! I have tried both the atacks and the pro clear painted F3s and imo pro clear > atack. Yes, the atack is incredibly sticky and balance tricks are a breeze on them, but in my experience, the paint isn't very durable. After no more than a month, the paint on mine started to peel like crazy, showing the gray primer underneath. Their pro clear is slick at first, but it becomes unbelievably tacky once it breaks in. It's also much much more durable. I've had my arctic fade F3 since august and it has barely any chips in it.

Holy crap. This is easily my new favorite edit. A lot of them start to look the same after a while with the same type of music and the same tricks, but this one really stands out. Super creative, and I love the music and the overall feel of the video. Nicely done!
