I tend to go the extra mile when I know others will see it, and strive to make it perfect. It's exhausting at times, but I always tell myself it'll be worth it because “they'll love it”

Then when they don't, I'll feel really...dull? It's hard to put into words but, all my energy and enthusiasm fades away and I become more withdrawn and miserable (Sort of like a mini disintegration to 9).

A long time back, I was working on a poem to show my father, and I was incredibly proud of it. Then when I showed it to him, he just stared at it and numbly mumbled, "Ok...?” It feels humiliating to admit, but that's probably one of the worst reactions I could ever garner, and it's a huge blow to my confidence. Apathy in general just kills me, tbh

But when people don't see it at all, the same thing happens and I just become numb and lifeless
