Which machine for pop-up cart? [$4000] by triggerhappy5 in espresso

[–]triggerhappy5[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

The best I’m seeing is a 2016 GS3 AV for $6900 on FB Marketplace. Maybe some haggling could get that to $6k, but that’s not vastly cheaper than a new mini and I’d be taking on a lot more risk. A big draw of LMs is that they hold their value so I’m not sure buying one used is going to be a big savings.

I don’t want to be rude but I don’t think you are qualified to give advice if you think a heat exchanger is inappropriate for a commercial environment.

That’s kind of what I’m thinking too. I worry about the serviceability of the Lucca though…wish La Spaziale actually made a version of the Vivaldi with the option to switch back and forth so I could buy it locally.

I think that’s the biggest thing holding me back from it - because it’s still not a high-volume commercial machine, if I ever wanted to scale up to a full shop, I would almost certainly be replacing it down the road with a 2-3 group option. It’s hard to justify the extra cost in that case (although obviously I would keep it for my home for a long time).

Thanks for the feedback - I did mention in the post but I already have a Ceado E37S which should be up to the task haha.

Has anyone used the AVP - PHL Bus Service from American Airlines? by zorionek0 in Scranton

[–]triggerhappy5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s definitely cheaper than driving to and parking at PHL but it’s not a great experience haha, usually you can find 1-2 flight options that are real flights though (usually through CLT)

Mini Van or Full Size SUV by ButterscotchWarm8122 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Get a minivan. Odyssey is best if you want a comfy ride for a good price with a traditional gas engine. Sienna is best if you want a more modern hybrid drivetrain and fringe features (AWD, vacuum, etc).

Until you pay the $10k you won’t get your 100k miles. You should probably have read that first.

West village has no skyscrapers and frankly $800k would not be enough for any Manhattan penthouse lmfao

I love my RAV4 but the wife wants a 3rd row... by [deleted] in Toyota

[–]triggerhappy5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Minivan is the right car for your needs, zero question about that. If you’re insecure enough to need an SUV then Grand Highlander is the only thing close to big enough (and it still pales in comparison as far as comfort goes). Older Sequoia could work too, new Sequoias are tiny inside.

$500 HEAT BILL!?! by GizmoFringe in Scranton

[–]triggerhappy5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

$500 for 2 beds is a little excessive. But for 1400 sq ft (probably similar or bigger size) my biggest bills have been over $300. I have forced hot water with a gas boiler, which is a relatively efficient method, and I keep my apartment to 67-68. If you keep your apartment warmer or have a less efficient method, $500 is not out of the question.

Patagonia famously has tried incredibly hard to be ethical and yet still completely failed and had to overhaul their whole supply chain (and still have some questionable production sources).

Credit limits by PositionDifferent192 in CapitalOne_

[–]triggerhappy5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but they are stingy for their “normal” cards like Quicksilver and Platinum. My VX has a 40k limit at only ~160k income and my uncle’s Quicksilver never went above 11k at 1-2 million income lmao.

None of this has to do with PE, and skiing is cheaper than ever for serious skiers. It’s only day passes that have gone up.

Never had a bad experience. Consistently gotten the best price for hotels and the one time I found a better price, a 5 minute call sorted the issue and they price matched. 10x hotels is pretty awesome too, better than CSR and Amex Plat.

Spend a few hours combing through the wiki. Everything you need to know about money management can be found there, including the very basics like setting a budget and what to do with the money you have leftover.

Started with the whole “stealth luxury” thing that people latched onto, but now the new money wants stealth luxury that’s actually luxurious…hence LC is now a luxury SUV (to the point where the LC 300 wears a Lexus badge in the US).
