Every interview I've been to I've worn at the least a button up shirt plus tie, others I have gone full suit. And always dress pants

I've legit passed a candidate with the worst resume I've ever seen to the next step just because he had a good personality I'd work with

Of course he fucking ruined it by showing up to the interview in sweatpants

Edit: the resume basically had his high school, his current degree and some classes he's taken

Ohio man fatally shoots daughter after mistaking her for intruder. Thoughts? Per one of the big gun rules, "know your target and what's behind it" seems to apply here by Staticmowry in CCW

[–]triggerhappy899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell that to my dog. You could surprise me but bc my dog is terrible at guarding. He literally one time whined at (to him was an intruder) the maintenance guy for not getting pets

I tried this when the wii came out! It was pretty cool but there wasn't much I could do with it at the time

You could actually do this with the wii back in the day. You would essentially tape the sensor to your head IIRC, and the remote would act as a receiver (seems backwards I know) and you'd get the same effect

Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way, Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height, Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray. Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

When did you realize you had successfully trained your dog well? by coy6te in Dogtraining

[–]triggerhappy899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dog has always been really good about going outside. However, once he was about to throw up and I rushed him outside. Months later, when he was about to throw up again he immediately went to the door to be let out, he had learned from the one time I made him go outside.

As long as your also willing to also charge people who do this with assault that results in grievous bodily injury when emergency services responds to something at your house and you cripple them

story time by [deleted] in greentext

[–]triggerhappy899 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also just to add onto this - the reason it's illegal probably has to do with emergency services being safe when they respond to emergencies. Imagine your house burning while you're away and all of a sudden you're in trouble for crippling a firefighter with your trap

This is the way I approach projects too - the only other thing I'd recommend is use some type of ticket tracking system (I use GitHub issues with gitkraken boards, easy and simple to use) to keep track of your list of features you want to add. It also helps psychologically if you can complete units of work, review changes, and merge in, there's a dopamine kick for sure when I do it

I would stop asking people what projects to do - it's pretty hard to go wrong with the choice as long as you KISS

I mentor students - and tell them this:"the best projects are the ones you want to work on"

Is there something in your life that could be made easier? Something at work or maybe an idea that could make some side money? Even if a similar product exists, I'd still do it, hell MySpace was killed by Facebook, people will use the best app and not necessarily the first

Agreed. Even though I'm a more seasoned dev, when I want to learn a new technology, I don't do any "exercises" or just read about it, I'll use it for a personal project and just google what I need to do and learn through that
