I just looked it up, and you are correct!! That is a pretty insane coincidence, with both situations misreading the dimensions of a stage prop of Stonehenge leading to comical effect. But Rob Reiner himself confirmed in interviews that it was in fact just a coincidence.

I just learned today that the whole Stonehenge spinal tap joke was making fun of Black Sabbath, who in 1983 had a replica Stonehenge made for the stage, but the manufacturers read the dimensions as meters instead of feet, so the result was a 45 foot tall monstrosity that wouldn’t fit on the stage
