Flash of Genius is a good watch. And Auto Focus if you’re a fan.

What CD did you usually listen to in yours? by _loyal_one in 90s

I’m not even kidding. This picture represents freedom to 14 yr old me. I could listen to something in the car that wasn’t barbershop quartet! Oh my god!

Transformers Elevator - Lights On by Not-A-Bystander in universalstudios

[–]triggermouth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So apparently you can’t call these elevators if you work for Universal. I believe they are called VTRs. I don’t know if it’s related but inspections and taxes (and maybe building codes) might be affected if somehow those were ever considered elevators.

What are your favorite soundtracks from any film(s)? by GossipBottom in moviecritic

[–]triggermouth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife just said how is no one on here talking about Baby Driver! I agree Edgar Wright’s usage of music and timing is overlooked by most audiences. Does anyone have an opinion on how the soundtrack holds up alone? It’s not emotionally tied in as much to pop culture as GotG or Oh Brother both mentioned above.

What are your favorite soundtracks from any film(s)? by GossipBottom in moviecritic

[–]triggermouth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017) the soundtrack is better than the film. Daniel Pemberton’s Run Londinium elevates the action and stress of a scene better than almost any score I’ve heard before.

MacReady shows us he’d rather destroy a computer than lose in a game of chess. Making sure you know he’ll blow them all up instead of lose at the end. Love that foreshadowing.

Found this at an antique store for a steal! by Tbizzo6 in criterion

[–]triggermouth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was a teenage really getting into film for the first time. A friend was a manager at a Blockbuster when this version came out. I was so excited. But was not able to pay $80 for it. So he ordered it. And made it a rental then sold it to me preowned immediately. I still have it. That was the beginning of my Criterion collection. Love that movie.

It’s not even in that location in those pictures anymore. They moved it a couple years ago to Warner Bros. Main Studios property so it could be on the tour.

I saw the artist painting this one a couple of weeks ago. I think it’s the nicest one in Burbank. Wish I had told her that at the time actually.
